Sunday

I am feeling a bit blah.. but I did work slightly on my February bulletin board for school.. Not done since I am waiting on a ribbon delivery from a friend at church who said they would give me some today.. I mostly relaxed and read today but I did make a couple of these cards.

The brown base is papertrey ink. Pattern layer is a plantain school book rectangle flood filled with a pattern from Lori's Garden Imagine cart. The blue layer is recollections blue from the cape cod color palette. The blue was embossed using the divine swirls cuttlebug. Scrap brown ribbon and stampin up stamp with papertrey ink brown ink.. The flower image is from Lori's garden Imagine cut in layers with diamond stickles added.

Gasp!

A snow day and not one craft project completed.. hand shoveled the drive.. Wet heavy snow!!! My push blower was no match for it. My fab neighbor with an industrial snow thrower did my walk.. I need to kiss and buy presents for my moms two neighbors.. the single gentlemen on both sides joined forces and dug her our and put her paper at her door. God bless them.. She is 89 and I am trying to figure out what to do for her 90th on April 28th.. I am thinking an open house where people can drift in and out.

I cleaned, did the laundry I am in good shape. Heading to Atlantic City for an NJEA winter leadership conference overnight tomorrow after school. Should be home Saturday late afternoon and now I have no guilt cause the house is all caught up.

Been reading the free friday download for the nook from last Friday all evening.. Hope to snuggle in my hotel room tomorrow night after workshops and finish it.. LOL ... in AC and reading a book. I hate gambling!

yucky weather night

We had snow this morning. Changed to rain. Stopped. Then poured down rain. Changed to sleet and now it is snowing again.. Good night to stay warm inside. I had to file a complaint with ebay because my seller has not returned my emails on the empty winter frolic cartridge package.. Of course the one I am wanting to scrapbook some snow pictures. Last night I worked on preparing 2 pages for scrapbooking for tomorrow night then lost the energy to cricut so I switched to my copics and a digi stamp I had on my file. I started coloring and finished tonight 3 sets of these. The pattern rectangle base I cut on my Imagine using a rectangle shape from Plantin Schoolbook sized to what I wanted and flood filled with a pattern from the Nursery Tails cart. I also cut the dark blue circle using Plantin Schoolbook. Then I used Lacey Circles Nestabilities for the light blue circle. The dark blue strip is punched with a making memories punch and the white strip embossed with dotted swiss cuddlebug. Scrap dollar ribbon. Oh and a My Pink Samper stamp.

Ughhhh

My first bad ebay delivery!!! I have wanted winter frolic cart forever!!! I finally won it at a price I would pay.. supposed to arrive last thursday or Friday according to tracking. (Okay ,,,suspicious when it did not arrive cause they are usually dead on!).. Today I get an envelope from the post office that says my package was damaged in shipment.. Okay in the envelope was a torn plastic mailing envelope with nothing.. That's damaged???? Several phone calls to my post office ( I will add very helpful kind people) who could only tell me it arrived to my local post office in the envelope that said it was damaged. My problem.. my bay seller probably got a confirmation on the delivery of that dang empty envelope!!!

Another wobble night

okay I thought I would make a get well card for my mom.. I got the upper respiratory thing for the holidays from the kids at school. (I am still coughing since I have asthma and it just won't stop). Anyway.. my mom has been sick for 4 weeks.. 2 doctor visits and the er.. she is 89 plus and lives alone.. around the corner. (She won't move in with me to make my life easier..aka one less lawn to cut and one less drive to shovel) She is finally getting depressed that she has no energy and still coughs all day long and feels like crap... Sooo I thought wobbles.. I went to the smiley cart on the gypsy and thought this image was perfect.. My mistake was thinking I'll cut the can in this green I have tons of.. Guess why??? It doesn't match anything I have.. I ended up with a simple card cause I just couldn't match the colors with anything to my taste.. She will still like the wobble.. :) I used papertrey ink base.. all I use so why do continue to say that??
Scraps for the figure.. black stickles for the eyes. diamond stickles for the thermometer, white gel pen and blue colorbox cat eyes for the inking.

Love wobbles

Okay this pictures does nothing to show you how an action wobble makes your card come to life with its movement.. Sorry I do not do videos.. The card base is vintage cream from papertrey ink. The red foil paper is from DCWV citrus paper. The stamp is stamping up with ultra thick embossing powder on it.. The cupcake is from the gypsy smiley cards using all scraps from my scrap bag.

wobbles

I got my order of wobbles and haven't made anything with them yet. Ack for some reason I am drawing a blank!

flowers

Okay.. Our school secretary is retiring the end of March and I am on the committee..( Don;t get me started on the principal trying to run our committee.. That is not going to happen. He is an interim and we have known her like forever and love her to death. We always go all out in my school to celebrate retiring people and this will be no diff.. ) We have picked the place.. menu, I have a scrapbook idea to create for her( I bought a pretty 8 X 8 album and some adorable Anna Griffin paper to hand out. Everyone in our school is to create a memory page for her.)... Now we are thinking center pieces for the table. I bought Mother's Day Bouquet just for this occasion.. We are going to have 3-D paper flowers with balloons coming out of the centerpiece.. Problem is I don't know what size to make them yet. We don't have the containers for the table.. One of the committee members had a great idea to go to thrift shops and get desk type stuff.. pencil holders.. etc.. then have the arrangements coming out of them.. Okay I can't size the flowers till we get the containers but I wanted to share my idea. The picture shows a flower that will be put together to create a 3-d flower from all sides. I made this as a sample to take the the retirement committee meeting on Monday. I glimmer misted the flower with opal glimmer mist and used hot glue to add the pearl to the center.

Christmas layouts

The poinsettia paper is from CKC last summer. The letters are from Winter Woodland cart and the poinsettia is from Joys of the Season. The I Believe layout has Happy Holidays chipboard by Jackie Eckles, Bo Bunny sticker, Gypsy Font letters and paper from a Christmas stack I bought maybe three years ago on clearance at Joanns. The border punch for the red strip was Martha Stewart.

Scrap night

Well I hope the snow comes later in the night here in South Jersey.. I haven't looked at the latest forecast this am but I always HATE to miss scrap night. I have another 2 2-page layout ready to assemble. This preplanning is working out well. Really cuts down on dragging so much to scrap-night. Of course preplanning is the key and I don't always do that! LOL

cards

The 2 stamped cards are the last two images from the 25 cent clearance stamps I got after Christmas that I experimented on with my copics. The color combos are unusual but it was all scrap paper that I think still works. The thank you card is all papertrey ink paper with stash ribbon. The flower is cut from Mother's Day Bouquet sprayed with pearl glimmer mist with a pearl added to the center. All the stamped sentiments on the cards are from My Pink Stamper.

Imagine Nation Monday Challenge

Emma's theme for this challenge was Sweet/Valentine. I used the Yummy cartridge for the background paper and the heart lollipop and the sweet. Sweet was a layer that I separated and changed the color on to match my other images. I used papertrey ink raspberry fizz for the base, a white gel pen, pink Le Plume marker and diamond stickles.

sympathy card

Sometimes less is better. My original vision for this card was to cuddlbug the top with divine swirls, add brown ribbon and stamp the bottom.. When I laid the branch on the blue to see how far down I would cuddlebug I thought.. stop right here. I laid the ribbon on it to confirm and I was right. Less was better on this card. Cricut cut is from Winter Woodland.

no crafting friday

Sorry ... no crafting today.. exhausted after work.. Priced some area restaurants for a retiring secretaries retirement dinner. Hit Kohls with a 30 % coupon to buy a carpet cleaner to do my carpets and my moms... 139.00 on sale for 109.00... - 30% my kinda deal.. Now I just have to assemble that baby and test it out. My family room carpets had lots of accidents right before I had to put my poor Bernie down before Xmas..I spot cleaned them all with a spot cleaner but I think the whole carpet needs a good cleaning... I watched the Oprah OWM network premier I had DVR'd tonight.... She really is a master.. the aides story touched a cord because I had to keep secrets way back when to protect innocent kids and is scary that people are still afraid.

Friday

I completed 2 2-page layouts last night.. One creative, one more about getting pictures on .. I mostly fancy up a few pages but others are lots of pictures. I love having pictures that tell my family history.. Pictures to come maybe over the weekend. Last night I found out you could order action wobbles..finally. I ordered a hundred to share with my scrapper friends. Can't wait to use them with cards for the 3-D pop.

Change in plans

After dinner I wasn't in the mood to color more cake images. I wanted to live up to my Imagine New Years resolution to create more with it. I have been using it more with my gypsy but tonight I decided to print and cut a birthday card using the Yummy Imagine cartridge.. (I can't wait until the Imagine does print and cut with the gypsy)..... I don't know if I ever mentioned that unless I am making a specific card for a specific person I always make multiples. Usually in multiples of 2 since when you cut the 8 1/2 X 11 paper in two it makes 2 A2 cards. This card is a top fold. The base is brown papertrey ink paper with diamond stickles added. The inside is stamped with the Papertrey ink birthday sentiments. Off to finish a book on my nook!

Snow Day

After shoveling out today I cleaned up several half done cards...mostly stamping the inside so they could all get filed in my card box. I made a few sympathy cards using a design I already posted so I didn't take new pictures. I cut pieces for another 2-page layout so I have 4 pages to assemble and put the finishing touches on at scrapbooking tomorrow night. I colored a little with my copics and came up this card... I am going to make a few more but with different colors so it isn't so feminine. I will tackle that after dinner. I love unexpected days home with no agenda.

New Years Resolution

One of my New Years Resolutions was to learn and use my Imagine more. I became frustrated with the mats and only used it for a print and cut. Tonight I used the imagine to make embellishments for a layout I am working on. I used Joys of the Season and Christmas Cheer. I colored the ornaments and light bulbs with colors from Imagine cart snow angle to match the Bo Bunny paper I am using on a layout.

snowy saturday morning

It was snowing and the house was quiet this morning so I took advantage and played with my copics and new nestabilities...FUN! I also went back and added a little this and that to the first gift of the season layout and now I think it is finished..

House is clean and my drive is shoveled. Heading to my moms to shovel her steps and drive...

The First Gift of the Season layout

I always give my kids the first gift of the season on thanksgiving eve. Usually a movie or wii game.. This year they also gave me one(An led lighted Christmas tree for the front yard to replace the snow-globe blowup ((I do love snowglobes)) that was vandalized last year).. Sorry I covered the pictures but my kiddies hate when i post their pictures... I didn't want traditional Christmas colors since Thanksgiving was the next day. I want to say that I designed this on the gypsy one day and went back to cut and put layers on pages another.. NOTE to self.. write down the carts you are using the gifts from. I had the hardest time searching to find the right gifts on the right carts to cut the layers to go with the presents. (mental challenge) The second page still needs a little something but I will stare at if for a few days before I figure out what that it.

I Added the pictures to a Thanks giving layout last night but it was an inspiration layout so I don't feel right posting it as my own.

Wednesday

I played around tonight experimenting with my new copic markers (pictures attached) ... I have a lot to learn. I went to ACMoore and got a couple of spellbinders nestablilties with my xmas gift cards for using with the stamped copic images. That was fun to play with also. Tomorrow night my scrapbook group starts up again after a holiday break.. I have designed and cut 2-2-page layouts to put together tomorrow night. I will post pictures after they are done. Should be fun catching up with the girls.

Imagination Monday Challenge

I haven't done a challenge in a while so I pushed myself to make something for the "Chinese New Year" Imagination Monday Challenge so I would have a card to send to my niece who was adopted from China. 2011 is the year of the rabbit.

I used the pagoda cart for the lanterns, Everyday paper doll for the rabbit, and All Mixed up for the letters. The red background and the lanterns were all colored with patterns from the Best Friends cart. The blue pattern background was colored from Nursery Tails cart. The numbers were heat embossed with black and the red background was dry embossed with the plum blossoms cuttlebug folder. I placed everything on a black card frame and added some gold stickles.

New Year

Well I hope my 2011 will be better than my New Years Day.. New Years Eve I was the designated driver for my daughter and about 5 of her college friends that went to a New Years party at the Landmark Americana... A sports bar in town, college oriented since I live in a college town. My daughter and her friends do not go to the local college but all live in South Jersey and go to a Delaware college. I drove them all, dropped them off and picked them all up at 2:30 am. They all slept at my house. I figure kids are gonna have fun so I might as well keep them safe. They were all 21...

I got about 4 hours sleep tops.. I get up and start undecorating the tree.. takes a while. Pull boxes all over the house to undecorate and my mom calls.. She has had bronchitis and says she is woozy.. (Whats that??) She is 89 so off to the ER we go.. for 11 hours. After 1 am we get out of the ER, go to the 24 hour Mc Donald's to feed her. Get her home and tucked in . ( She will not stay with me) I get in bed by like 2:30 and set my alarm for 8.. Does not go off. (Thanks iphone glitch!!!) I get up at 9 and spend all day trying to finish taking down 2 trees, garland everywhere, decorations etc.. to get the house back together before work tomorrow. I finish around 5 working non-stop! Have dinner ready for when my daughter gets home from work. Whewwwww I will be going to bed shortly. The outside decorations will have to wait till the rain stops and it all dry off.

Hasn't been the best holiday vacation with everyone sick and the snowstorm but, it is what it is and we were all together as a family when it happened so life is good.

Hope my phone wakes me tomorrow.. Hope life slows down an bit and I can finish the 2 layouts I designed and cut this week.

My daughter leaves Thursday for her final semester of college. I simply cannot believe that she is this old and my youngest is graduating in a few months!!! Oh my!!!

Hope to be crafting maybe tomorrow night or Tuesday.. After work tomorrow is the back to college SAMS run! I will get my ck book ready!
