Imagine sympathy card

This card is much prettier in person than it photographs. The flower cuts are the Imagine More Card with layers and stickles. The stamp is stampin up and the ribbon and card base is paper trey ink.

Playing with the Imagine

A very simple card with a few stickles added for fun.

Tuesday

I have to say that the more I look at the 2 page wine fest spread with the flags the more it is lacking.. Such is life. I will keep cking it out till I add what is missing. Yeah I have the splint off my foot. No more crutches, just a boot for 5 to 6 weeks. I can take it off to shower and sleep. Yeah! I went back to school tonight so I didn't craft. Just tried to get caught up on reading my favorite blogs.

exhausting

All I can say is that trying to walk all day yesterday on crutches was exhausting. I got home and did nothing. My right hip is killing me from taking all my body's weight. Hope to get a walking cast today at the orthopedic doctor to make getting around easier. I am so grateful for my son's help.

Not original idea

Okay the idea for this tree came from My Creative Time with Emma. The tree is cut from the shapes on the Imagine and the pattern on the tree is from the Nursery cart. I used clear stickles, shimmer red from DCWV embossed with spots and dots cuddlebug folder and the card base and ribbon are from papertrey ink.

layouts using Imagine

On the top 2 pages I used the Imagine to make the patterned flags. The other cuts were done using the gypsy and expression. The bottom 2 layouts were done completely using the Imagine.

crafting plans have changed

Well, my weekend crafting plans have changed. I stepped in what I think was a mole hole when clearing the gardens and hurt...yes my bad ankle. I decided that this time I should x-ray it as I have had such problems from the last injury..It has a fracture. They don't know if it was fractured before and I re-injured or just fractured today.. Not having a lot of luck taking care of house business. The first injury was cleaning out the basement, today was cleaning out the annuals and putting in mums.

update on layouts

I printed and cut all the pieces for 1, 2 page layout from last night. This layout is all Imagine. It is not popped or adhered yet so can't take a picture. Experimenting with the Imagine takes some time. I used some Georgia Pacific card stock on the smaller cuts tonight and found out two things. It is thicker than the white value pack from ACMoore I bought the other night and I think the colors are more vibrant on it. I should have gotten the HSN high quality bazzill 12 X 12 but alas it is sold out. The other thing I learned was that it was not cutting all the way through and I turned up the blade and it still did not cut all the way through and then I had an aha moment.. Pressure. Where is the pressure setting on the Imagine? It is not a manuel setting like on the expression and it doesn't remind you to ck the pressure like on the gypsy so beware! I also cut a few more pieces for another layout. Tomorrow night after much yard work I will switch to the expression to complete my layouts as the designs are all planned on the gypsy and that is not Imagine friendly yet.

Oh I realized tonight how gypsy dependent I have become because I had the hardest time sizing things to fit my page on the Imagine. I am so used to using the gypsy and sizing it to the mat on screen and cutting I have been spoiled. It is hit or miss again with the Imagine until it can work with the gypsy.

Also, I was extremely disappointed that they put out an Imagine update today but it was only windows friendly. Thank goodness that I could use my work laptop to update. I sincerely hope that they do not continue with the MAC users being left behind. Not fair as that was never mentioned in the information presented about the Imagine.

busy wwek

I have had a busy week. Last night at scrapping I designed 3 two page layouts using regular carts and the Imagine. Now I just have to find the time this weekend to get it all cut out and put together. I have to get fall yard work done this weekend. That has to come first. Hoping with work that things get into the groove soon.

Create a critter & Imagine

Last night I played around learning how to use an old cricut cart in the Imagine with the Imagine More card for adding colors. I played with patterns on the layers and even using the color wheel to pick the solid color for the feet and beak. The grass was just green card stock embossed with the forest branches cuddlebug folder.
NO crafting today.. I had my trainer at the gym after school and I am going to the board of education meeting tonight.

experimenting with the Imagine

I just cut the layers of the bird from create-a-critter adding the colors with the Imagine. Just to figure this all out. I put some stickles on it so it has to dry before I assemble the card. Photo tomorrow.

Best Friends Imagine Card

If I were to make this card again I would change the green background to make more contrast. I simply left the colors the way they were on the cart and mounted it on a pale pink card base to match the pink in rule. I did add some glitter gel pen. Much of the patterns and backgrounds on this cart have an aged/distressed look to them.

Imagine

I was just experimenting with my Imagine that arrived yesterday. So much to learn. This simple wall hanging was made using the Nursery Tails Imagine cart. A friend at works daughter is due to have a little girl in 2 weeks and the room is brown and pink so when I saw this pattern background I experimented.

Sunday

No crafting today. It was moma's day. I have season tickets for a local theater with my mom. Our tickets are for the Sunday 2 pm show. I take her to church, give her a rest then we see the show and have dinner out together. Saw Lost in Yonkers. Fabulous local production and enjoy spending the day with my 89 year old mom. The best part is this theater was the place she worked at in high school selling candy at the concession stand. Every time we go she shares another tid-bit of memory about the theater.

frustrated

I have to say that the reliability of blogger is frustrating. I hate page not found when you know there is one out there somewhere.

B-day card

Well, I rearranged my craft space. My 6ft table is in place waiting for my Imagine that should arrive on Monday according to tracking! I love, can you hear me say LOVE my new swivel memory foam office chair!!! Now if my son is not home how will I lift it to set it up? I figure I can slide it into the house but the rest?? I am not supposed to lift over 25 pounds since my surgery last spring.. HUMMM I will be knocking on my neighbors door, trust me.

This card is for a friend I made today using DCWV paper, pooh marker font, and a balloon from create-a-critter. I am NOT a girly, girl but somehow I have the hardest time trying to create a card for a male.

table

I purchased my table for my craft room today after work. A nice 6ft long one from Sams club. I got a new rolling chair to roll from my computer to craft table as well. It is so nice with memory foam in it. Hope to get the room rearranged tomorrow. I am leaning back towards green for the room LOL. I think it is going to take me a while. I just think the green is warm with the brown shelves. I was able to make it to the gym as well. It helped to work out, work frustration from last nights Open House at school.

Thursday

Its back to school night at my school. I am hoping that things slow down soon and I get in more crafting. I was out shopping last night for a table. I found one but it won't fit in my car. Thanks Channon who will take me Friday after work to get it. Tossing an old love seat in my scraproom and putting in a 6ft table. A nice home for my imagine when it comes. Taping up paint samples. Thought I wanted green but none thrill me so it will be back to the paint store for more. The craft room as well as my bedroom are in dire need of painting. Out with the faux into the solid colors.

Layout with a mistake!!

Okay can you spot my mistake??? This is what I get for not paying attention. I never glue letters but I ran out of xyron. Thankfully I had the same color papers and the layout is redone correctly!

ughhh

When I took a picture of one of the layouts from last night I had glued down two letters out of order. They won't lift so I need to redo the page!

I did it!

I did it! I ordered and Imagine!!!

Imagine launch!

Well, tonight is the night for the imagine launch! Took a nap after work and am going to stay up. I really, really want one and they say 5 flex payments. That is doable. My son is encouraging me to go for it and planning my craft room rearrangement. I completed two of the layouts that were on my gypsy tonight. Hopefully I'll get pictures tomorrow in good light.

Sunday

I went to church this am and then visited my sis-in-law who had major knee surgery on Tuesday. My son and I hit Sports Authority after so I could get sweat bands and some workout gear. I really do sweat like a guy! Must be those 4 brothers I have. LOL When I got home I had lunch then made a quick wedding card for a friend using Stretch Your Imagination. Sorry I didn't take a picture but I used metallic paper and I think it turned out nice. I really do love the baby and wedding card on that cart. I think they are timeless when used with the right paper. Okay I hit the gym after that so I reached my goal of at least 3 times in one week building to 4. The trainer and I need to have a talk. I need a session where we just work on setting me up on the machines for when I don't have him. These machines are not the same as my old gym and I need help with them. My money.. My rules on Tuesday. It took me days to recover from my training session, wow I am out of shape. I have to share that I saw a woman at the gym today that looked to be in my age range..I am 54.. She was amazing. If only I could achieve half of what she was doing I would be good. Goal is to be comfortably ( I say this cause I just got in the healthy range in the spring when I lost 25 pounds and regained 11 so am slightly out again which increases blood pressure , etc. ) in the healthy range for my weight and to be here for my kids for a long time since they can't count on dad. Visited a dear friend after the gym.

After making dinner and watching the Eagles loose I have been drooling over Imagine videos, catching up on my blogs and trying to pick out paper combinations for the layouts I have designed.

9/11

Today is 9/11 hard to believe it has been so long and I do wonder what we learned from it all with all this nonsense in the news with media grabbing extremist on both sides. What happened to tolerance and love thy neighbor?

Sorry no crafting posts since last weekend. I am still adjusting to back to school and I started with a trainer on Tuesday and I have been sooo sore. ( I have been slowly regaining the 25 pounds I lost last winter and I am determined to stop it and get in a nice healthy range for my height) When I have had time to craft I designed 3 layouts on my gypsy. Now this weekend I need to find the time to pick out the paper to cut them. HUMMM if I had an imagine I could pick out the colors while I designed. I am making a list of reasons to buy vs not buy since it is so much money. On one hand I tell myself I don't need it. On the other I tell myself that life is too short and paper crafting brings me such joy I should get it and spread out the payments.

Alas, I did not win the cricut circle Labor Day layout contest but it was fun to participate. My style is very simple and some of the ladies who entered had amazingly creative detailed projects. I can't hold a candle to them but I still enjoy what I do.

Labor Day

I did not get my other layout done today but had a wonderful day anyway. My day started with a hot air balloon flying over and it just got better from there. I have to say that when I got home from my picnic I was catching up on my blogs and I now have cricut imagine envy. Oh those lucky ladies that get to test it out for their blogs. How nice for them!

Last splash of the season layout

I used DCWV paper, Life's a Beach and one of the paper doll cricut carts for this layout. It is hard to remember when you use the gypsy to design the layout and you use images through the search feature. There is a lot of glitter paper in this layout that does not photograph well even outside. I originally cut the splash in the blue glitter also but when I was putting it through my xyron it ran out in the middle, jammed and ripped the letters and I didn't have anymore blue glitter paper. Oh well, as Karen says, "It's only paper."

FINALLY

I finally got my creative juices going again today. I woke up with an idea for the cricut circle going places challenge this am. Designed most of it on my gypsy before church while it was fresh in my mind and just finished putting it together after I came home from my niece's sons birthday. So what is he my great nephew. I always get that stuff confused. I will take a picture of it tomorrow outside. I don't have one of those bright natural light scrapbooking lights and I used lots of glitter paper so it needs light to photograph well. I also designed another layout after church and before the party for my ongoing chronological scrapbook. Hope to maybe get started on cutting that one out and putting together tomorrow. We will see how it goes with the Labor Day picnic.

TIRED

I do love teaching but I am barely alive after the first two days of students. This was the hardest. It is all easier after today getting the routine down. I think I am def getting old cause it seems it takes longer to adjust every year.

teaching

Oh well...school is starting in my district tomorrow and my crafting will take a back seat for a few weeks till we get the new school year up and running. (PS It has been already getting everything ready) The kids come first. I miss doing challenges.. I have had a few in my head and no time to execute... Crafting is my relaxation ... regular posts will resume soon.
