exhausted

I am exhausted from a full day of meetings but needed to make a quick card for a friend that needed a thinking of you card.(stamped on the inside with MPS stamps) She got some bad news so this is to cheer her. She is a PINK and glitter person and this paper screamed her.

Cricut circle calling card

Here is my cricut circle calling card. The core of the apple is my initials. When you turn it over it has all my contact information. I didn't get my challenge cards done. To much to do, not enough time this weekend.

Tired

I have two challenges in my head. I am to tired to cricut tonight! My ankle felt good enough to cut the grass with our great 79 high today. Sunday back in a South Jersey heat wave of high humidity and 90's. Hope to get My Creative Time with Emma's Challenge and Circle Challenge done tomorrow. We will see how much my creative brain forces its way into the last minute things I need to accomplish before I have work training on Monday. Tonight it was GO EAGLES!

cry

I just typed a really long post hit the wrong key and it disappeared. Ughhh. I will do it again tomorrow.

More Big Lots

Okay, I was laying the ribbon on this and I said to my son, " Do you like the blue or the brown?" He lays the brown on the blue and says both.

Scrapbook group night

Tonight is my scrapbook group night. Yeah...Actually I talk a lot and scrap a little. I finally figured out my cricut circle calling card so that is tonights project! If I finish that I will start My Creative Time with Emma's Thursday throw back challenge. I have the idea in my head. This afternoon I finished up odds and ends on two 99% done projects to clean out my space here. I have a new scrapbook idea for my son. ( An 8 X 8 album just for him of his under grad and grad school graduations) I think he feels left out because I have done several mini albums for my daughter.

Big Lots

I found some Halloween stamps at big lots last week for 50 cents each. I worked with them a little last night until I had to stop and elevate my foot. I used vintage photo Tim Holtz to color the white card stock to stamp on, some old Debbie Mumm old Harvest & Holiday paper and old scrap ribbon. Hope to be able to finish up the other cards tonight if my ankle will let me.

ughhh

I fell carrying out trash from the basement to the curb. Twisted my ankle. Even worse to try and walk on this am. I have to many things to do today for this. I have a week till school starts and I am trying to do everything I ignored to craft all summer. LOL

sympathy card

This card actually looks better in person than in the photo. Haven't crafted much but made a huge dent in cleaning up the basement with my son. The trash men are going to hate me.

bats

I added bats to the haunted house card!

Card for Emma's challenge

The card was cut from Paper dolls. I chose to "frame" the little ghost in the door way of the haunted house by popping up the house to give it dimension. The background paper I have had in my stash for some time. It is called designer paper from creative memories.

Back To School Bulletin Board

Monday, August 16, 2010

working on bulletin board

I am working on the bulletin board. I went into school today and put up the first part. I wasn't sure my cuts were going to be okay. I thought I might need the 12 X 24 mat but this is working. I measured the space for more things to cut this afternoon. I will put the rest up tomorrow and post a picture.

Finally

I have had a mental block for my back-to-school bulletin board this year. In the shower this morning it came to me. With that said I will probably not have any cards or layouts up for the next few days but I will post the bulletin board picture when I get it put up.

snowman card

I have slowly been making my Christmas cards for this December so that they end up unique instead of trying to generate an assembly line right before I need them. I made 4 of these today. The snowman is from snow friends and the snowflake was from gypsy wanderings. The snowman is under 3" and the cutout face pieces just to small so I used the peachy keen critter face stamps. I had intended to pop up the snowman but as I was gluing the last one down I remembered but it was too late. The paper is mostly papertrey ink.

Paisley/back to school challenge

My daughter is going back to college for her senior year next Tuesday. I decided to join the challenge so I could have a card waiting in her mailbox at school when she got there. While going through the images for the cart I remembered how when she first went to school I would put on lipstick just to kiss the back of her had so she felt some love all day in school. This image reminded me of that and I hope when she gets it she will also remember and feel the same love today.

Using up scraps

This morning I used up all my scraps from yesterdays challenge card to make two simple thank you cards. I don't always think cards have to have cuts, pop dots, doodling etc. Sometimes simple is nice also and that is such a good way to utilize leftovers. I also think a little less fancy is nice when sending a thank you to a male. My challenge card colors were chosen with a male recipient in mind so it makes sense that these were created with a male in mind. Tonight my scrap group meets so I will be working on my New Orleans pictures again.

PKS Challenge 34 - sketch

This is for the Peachy Keen Stamp Challenge 34 - sketch. The stamp and most of the paper used were from Papertrey ink. I used a making memories border punch, sweet treats cricut cart for the cupcake and the D'vine Swirl cuttlebug folder.

Flower card challenge

Last night right before I got in bed I read about Momo's flower card challenge. Then I couldn't fall asleep so I started thinking about the challenge and remembered that I bought Walk in My Garden from a friend who accidentally bought two on ebay and I had only used it once. So I got up and thumbed through the images and the idea for the card was born. This morning I sized all the images on my gypsy and used the D'vine swirl cuddlebug folder to emboss the background. A little stickles, doodling, pop dots and then it was done.

Name Book

I always wanted to use plantin school book to make a name book. Well, at CKC these chipboard letters were so cheap that it was easier to just buy the bases. I spent this am covering, sanding, inking, and glimmer misting the letters. I used flower eyelets to finish off the holes. All the papers were from DCWV summer dream print and coordinating solid paper packs. I will embellish at little at a time now that the grunt work is done.
