Friday

I am finally done the never ending school year. I have never in all of my years teaching had such a tearful goodbye. I actually had to leave the final gathering to deal with it privately. I teach in Nj. They cut all kindergarten aides for next year and two teachers. They transferred one to another building with no notice. We had two retirements. We had 11 aides rift to make room for other with more seniority, 2 teacher layoffs, and 2 retirements. Never have I felt such a loss to my profession of such quality people. More importantly I live and work in a town that has the highest low-income housing in the county. They took away all the kindergartens aides for next year and increased class size. There will be nobody to comfort the children who need it..

Finally saying what has been on my heart reveals why I have not been posting as much lately. My creative juices have been sapped.

I am heading to New Orleans on Monday for 10 days but hope to come back refreshed and ready to cricut.

BTW I joined the cricut circle I encourage you to do so also.

Wednesday

I hope to get a picture up this evening of the two page layout I did on the weekend. After that I will probably not be posting for like 2 weeks. Last day of school Friday and heading to a conference with a few days sightseeing built in on Monday for 10 days.

End of school blues

I so have end of the school year blues. I am tired mentally and physically. 1 more week to go. I feel like all my creative juices have been sucked out of me. I worked on 2 - 2page layouts last night at my scrapbook group. Neither are complete. They need a little this and that to be done. One more week of school that off to New Orleans for 10 days.

neglecful

I have been a neglectful blogger, so sorry but it is the final month of school here in my district and I have tons to get done. Also my 25 year old son has been really sick and in the hospital twice last week so all that takes precedent over crafting. The good news is I will soon have an entire summer to craft at will.

gypsy project

I wanted to work on a project that would use some of my gypsy creative features. I made this toad card by using the shadow feature on the frog. Copied, mirrored it, then flipped and welded it for the card base. I then cut the layers slightly smaller. I also cut a white frog shape to line the inside for writing a thank you message. I used the cuddlebug to texture the frog. The card was cut to fit in a 5 1/2 square envelope.

Final Bulletin Board of the year

I just finished cutting all the pieces for my final bulletin board of the school year. The closing ceremony theme is Broadway Juniors. ( I still think Junior Broadway sounds better but it is the music teachers program) The kids will sing broadway tunes. Any how I cut big tickets from locker talk and cut a bunch of letters. I will take a pix tomorrow when I put it up and post it. Nothing as detailed as my spring bulletin board.

more sypathy cards

Seems like I go through a lot of sympathy cards these days. Must be my age. I liked it better when you were at a wedding every other weekend or the stage where everyone was having babies. Now it seems like everyone's parents or siblings are passing.

inside of B-day card

Here is the inside of my daughters B-day card. She wanted a pop-up because my son had a pop up. Don't cha love how that never ends?? You can't really tell from the picture but the shades of pink on the cake and balloons are all glitter paper. I loved using the Gypsy to plan all the sizes out in advance and then just cut when she wasn't home. I also used the gypsy to flip the balloons so the strings were opposite one another.

Daughters B-day cover

Here is the cover to my daughters B-day card. I have designed the inside but not cut an assembled yet. It will be a pop-up. Hoping to do it tonight while she is at the XTU concert. I used the Forever Young cart and gypsy wanderings font.

Why I love my gypsy.

Here is a very good reason why I love my gypsy. Last night my daughter was like I need two 21 cards... Now! Of course you do. Well, because I had just made the numbered 18 card on my gypsy and saved it I just changed the numerals and tah dah! done. She wanted one with orange in it and the other with purple.

Flyers

The Flyers in the playoffs have been getting in my way of crafting. I have designed tons of things to cut but have no time with the end of school and hockey playoffs.. I did work on the cover of my daughters 21 B-day card yesterday. Tonight I designed the pop-up inside on the oversized card. Good grief.. the kids are how old and she said I made her brother an oversized 25 so she wanted a big one also..
