Cat card

My ex-in laws like cats so I made this cat card for my ex- mother-in-law for mothers day using the paisley cart... I really need to use what I have. I have some great carts and tend to only use the newest ones.

The big launch

Oh my... I had such a hard time sleeping last night.. Had words with my 21 year old... I finally told her stop... Lets go to bed and wake up tomorrow without trying to take back more words we didn't mean.. I know she is under the gun. Final exams to graduate from college this week but I do draw the line as mommy and I drew it last night.. Whew... She left today.

Any hooo.. Yeah tonight is the big launch for the expression II.. I need to nap to get up and watch it. Is is soo unseasonably warm here. What the heck happened to spring. I slept with the windows open last night and sneezed all day.

I washed my deck.. Simple green, brush and hose. It really needs a power wash but we just need to get buy for Saturday. My son scrubbed all the old lawn chairs and table. It will need a pollen wash off the day of but we are making head way.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter Everyone. I probably won't be scrapping much this week. I have the party next weekend and I am an anxious entertainer so I will be busy fussing and accomplishing nothing all week. LOL

Imagine card with action wobbles

I used the yummy Imagine card for this card along with action wobbles.

Mothers Day Card

My mom loves yellow roses so I used the Walk in my Garden Cart to create this card. The scalloped oval is from spellbinders. The solid white oval was cut from Gypsy wanderings and sized to fit inside the spellbinder shape with the dotted swiss cuddlebug added.

gasp!

I went major clothes shopping today without looking at price tags.. Major for me. My two kids went with me and I sweated out trying on things to come up with outfits for my momma's 90th birthyday, my daughers pinning ceremony for nursing and her graduation.. Ugghhh do you know how many crafting supplies I could have bought?? Actually it was depressing for me having gained 25 pounds in a year after surgery and stress.. Made me really get a realty ck on gettin myself back in a healthy weight. But the good news is that I will look good in pictures for graduation..Talbots to the rescue..:) Hey if it is good enough for Mrs. Obama it is good enough for me for a special occaison.

I also got my daughters graduation present today.. She is so happy. She has wanted a new MAC forever.. She has never had her own new computer. My son got a new mac for graduation from me and my parents and for 4 years she has asked for one.. Today she got it.. My ex and I don't always see eye to eye but I am glad that we could come together to give her her wish. I could never have done this on my own and my mom is not in a position to do it with her reduced pension since my dad passed on.

Another pop-up card

I used thinner paper on the pop-up elephant and I still think it stands up okay. I cut the elephant at 4" and the front words at 4.30. I sized everything on the gypsy and used hide contour to just cut out the ear and tusk in different colors instead of re-cutting everything. Papers are all from my stash with a thick papertrey ink card base to support all the layers.

no post

I had great visions of working on another pop-up card tonight. I woke at 4:30 am wide awake.. as the day went on at school on our snow make-up day I got more tired. Came home crashed and slept 2 hours.. Too much. It has made me groggy.. hehehe.. tomorrow is another crafting day.. Tonight is about inspiration from my fav bloggers and cricut.com message board.

I am on spring break now.. clean.. clean.. run my mom for an outfit for her b-day.. Hectic next 3 weekends.. Easter.... my moms 90th party then the next weekend I travel to see my daughter get her pin for the nursing ceremony and then the next day graduate with her BSN.. Good times a comin. Gosh isn't life good.

Everyday pop-up cards cartridge

Okay this cart you definitely have to play with to figure out. On the flower box card I used directions from:

http://www.craftingwithkatie.com/2011/04/everyday-pop-up-card.html

This is a birthday card for my kids to give thier gram.

On the graduation card I just cut it on thin cheap paper and played with it till I figured out the orientation of vertical or horizontal and placement. Then cut it on thick card stock from papertrey ink for stability.. The graduation card is for my daughter who graduates with her BSN on May 7th... My son was like you should use the school colors etc... My daughter is the ultimate pink sparkle girl.. SOOO not like me who had 4 brothers and wanted to be like them NOT a girl. I wanted the card to reflect her..:)

Imagine Card

How come some cards you just whip out and others.... We this was one of the others. I printed all the imagine parts on Sunday night and Monday night started to put it together.. Then I decided it needed inking, then stickles, then I didn't like the top so I tied on twine... Tuesday night took off the twine and last night tried adding the lace. Still not lovin it.. Oh well. I am moving on to other card projects tomorrow. I got Everyday POP up cards in the mail today.. Wish I could play tonight but I have school work to do Boo Hoo...

On a non-crafting note I wanted to share a really great thing that happened today.. An aide in the district where I teach came around and gave every teacher a 100 dollar gift card to help with all the materials that we buy out of pocket to supplement. Her mother had recently passed away and she made a donation of some kind to every school in the district in her mothers memory.. Wow wasn't that just the nicest thing ever.. We are so often vilified in our state at this time as the root of all the budget woos it was a nice gesture..

Imagine observation

Okay I am a day late and a dollar short but tonight is the first opportunity I had to design on my gypsy using the imagine update.. It really is just like working on the imagine. You cannot move images around on the mat yet and sizing when doing layers is guess work because of it. The other thing is that they have not yet fixed the calibration problem . When you cut the top layer on the mat all is good.. every sweep down on the mat the calibration is off more and more on the cuts. So designing a page full of cuts still is not good cause you have to recut them anyway. The other bug that I ran into was the pressure.. As soon as it happened I remembered reading this. Even if your machine is set at 5 you must change the pressure on your gypsy to cut above a level 3.. Needless to say.. I have cut images to create a card 3 and 4 times for some layers working out the bugs on this and the card is not done but I am getting there. It's all good and part of the learning process. Can't tell you how much paper I wasted in 2007 when I got my expression.

ughhhh

okay I did not anticipate that the interior of my mom's birthday invitations would take hours and double ughh she came up with more names and I had to make some more cards tonight. Hope to mail everything by Monday morning and the big clean begins so I will not be posting as much. Gotta spring clean every thing for the party.

Wednesday

Well I am finally starting to feel a little better. Not 100% but I didn't come home and crawl to the couch with a book today. I made this quickie retirement card tonight. The two layers of pattern paper are from Lori's Garden on my Imagine. The enchanted evening ribbon and card base are papertrey ink along with the fillable frames diecuts and stamps.

Tomorrow is the big retirement dinner. Pray for good weather to get the paper table arrangements there. The retirement committee also had decided to hand out 8 X 8 scrapbook paper and have people write messages. I put the album together tonight.

All I can say is wow. I work with some pretty amazing women. Such a team effort went into this dinner. Two of the pre-k teachers made the cutest big book about our secretary. Hoping and praying for a wonderful evening tomorrow night.

Spring has sprung

And my allergies are in full force today. I went to Atlantic City for a leadership conference on the weekend and did not sleep well in the hotel. There was some beer fest going on in the convention center Friday and Saturday so there were a lot of LOUD guests in my hotel during the night. Ughh So I am tired and stuffed. Off to curl up with my nook and try and feel better.
