Happy New Years

A safe, healthy and happy New Years to everyone. All the best in 2011.

I took my first copic marker attempt.. the bears and turned them into cards yesterday to send out to my ex in laws and my mother....

Spent the afternoon at the doctor and pharmacy. My daughter has been sick, and I have been sick since Christmas Eve day. Haven't felt good all week. I definitely should have gone sooner to the doctor. I should know better being an asthmatic.. I am now on breathing treatments, antibiotics, steroids and codeine cough medicine.. Hopefully this will kick it so I can get to school feeling reasonable well on Monday. Even not feeling well I enjoyed the after Christmas snow storm and having my family here for the holidays.. Its all about a positive attitude.

copic markers

Yeah my markers came today.. I ordered them with the xmas money my generous ex-in laws gave me. Instead of a bundle set I choice to order individual colors to get the starter ones Suzanne Dean recommends on her web site. I got them from oozak.com. Great prices and super fast delivery. I was very please. I have been downloading free digi stamps from the Free Digital Stamp blog. I printed the image below from those free ones. These are my first attempt at coloring with copics.. I am happy but a year from now with better practice at light sourcing etc... I am sure I will look back on how crude I think they are. LOL

Excited!!!

My copic marker started set I ordered is due to arrived today.. I guess that 2 page layout I designed on my gypsy last night while watching the Eagles implode will have to watch to be cut. LOL

Monique Griffith Layouts

Her layouts are just stunning. I saw her Thanksgiving layout a while back so I had to order the Thanksgiving cricut cart. I worked all afternoon on my version of her layout. It is mostly done...just need to adhere a few more things and wait for the pictures to be added when my snappish order arrives. Not posting a picture cause I feel it is mostly her design and not my own creativity. I do want to thank her for her generosity for sharing her creativity.

Wallet Card

Last night on the circle blog I asked for male card ideas. Josie 0602 told me she made a wallet card inspired by Bren's Design blog.. Well I looked for Bren's blog but I did not find a wallet card example. I made up my own. I don't know if this resembles the one suggested or not but it is my version of it.

Christmas present to me

okay I ordered a nice Christmas present for myself today,, I do love my ex in-laws. They are very generous to me. Christmas 2007 I bought my first circuit with xmas money from them.. Today I ordered a big...copic order to set my self up with a nice starter set from the xmas ck they gave me. Everyone paper crafts from a different direction. I started with digital scrapbooking when it was in its infant stages and only moved to traditional scrapbooking in 2007.. I joined a scrap group and found that when I was up to date on photos I had nothing to do. Then we had a stamping up demonstrator do a make and take at our scrap night and my expansion to card making followed.. So I arrive at copics round about but I am ready to try a new median. Looking forward to new creative endeavors in 2011. I have edited and uploaded my Thanksgiving and Christmas pictures to snappish so hopefully the markers or pictures will arrive soon since I am off from work for a week.

snow

This is the 3rd time trying to make the post.. keeps locking up. 8 to 12 inches of snow expected. Thats a lot for South Jersey. I was out about 30 minutes ago and took this photo. Trying to keep the car and drive clear to pick my daughter up from work. College students home need to work all the hours they can for money. Eagles game canceled.. BOO

My Bernard

On his throne that we created for him. He was blind and deaf at this point.

Bernie

I had to put my Bernie to sleep today.. Strange going from a 3 dog house to just 1 in a little over a month.. Gonna go keep busy and bake some cookies.

pop corn mix bags

I made up a dozen of these bags tonight. The mix is popcorn, peanuts, m & m's and pretzels with white chocolate mixed on it. Then milk chocolate drizzled on again. I got the recipe from the cricut circle. The topper was made with the Imagine and snow angels cart.

I also made up another note card set similar in design to one already posted so I didn't take a picture.

Been trying to bake a little every night to get it done. Tonight I made oatmeal lace cookies and spiced pecans.

Going to bed. Lots to do again tomorrow.

How many days until Christmas?

What a weekend. Work Christmas party Friday night. Saturday am stocking shopping. See my Brother and his family from Connecticut in the afternoon at my moms. Christmas party Saturday night. Sunday morning my family lit the advent candles at church. Sunday afternoon a see a Christmas celebration at a local theatre.. Now finally trying to start my holiday cookie baking.. Gotta run and get a batch out of the oven.

exhausted

Its only 8:50 and I am going to bed. Soo tired teaching little 5 year olds this time of year. Plus I have both of my children home and we are running.

When my ex husband left when my daughter was in 5th grade. I would read a page of Harry Potter and she would read a page. We both got hooked and would fight over who had the next book when it came out. Then the movies started and we would go to the midnight showings. Well with her at college and then working thanksgiving weekend when she was home we finally went today after I got done work. YEAH. One more movie to go.

I love my kids

My twenty something kids went with me to the charity Christmas party today,,, I just so feel that it brings us closer as a family to do something for others less fortunate than us together. I am so proud of them...

We then shopped for everything we need to make xmas cookies and the main staples for Christmas dinner with the last minute stuff yet to come.

Saturday

Not sure when I will get time to craft anytime soon.. :( Today I am off to work a charity Christmas party for local needy families. My church combines with another to provide it. My church organizes the children's gift room. The children get to come in and pick out gifts to give their parents or guardians. We wrap them and and they decorate cards. We hope this helps teach the children that Christmas is also about giving and not just receiving.

My daughter arrived home from college last night.. I am glad to have her home but with that we now have to make a decision about our Bernie dog. He is in a bad way and I think it is his time. We will probably make an appointment to put him down next week. He is blind, deaf, having back trouble, starting to have accidents in the house... the list goes on. He has had a wonderful life since we rescued him 7 years ago from a shelter. He had a bad life till we got him. He had been a stray. He had teeth damage where he might have been kicked. He is so lovable... never understood how anyone could do that to him.. Just gonna love him till we decide.

Jolly Holidays

I have to say that I am sorry that I did not get the Jolly Holly cricut cart. I am seeing such cute things made with this.

more pictures

I just about finished my son's book that has all his undergrad and graduate school pictures in it for him. Here are two more pictures from the book. I included that really blurry picture in the book because that was him actually getting his diploma. It was a bummer that it rained for his graduate school and it was inside.

finally some pictures

I needed to make a few more quick Christmas cards so I created this using the Imagine and the snow angle cart.
The picture is a little blurry but I did add the jelly roll glitter pen to the berries and in person it adds a little something extra.

Sorry

So sorry I am behind in taking and posting pictures. Hope to put something up tomorrow night. Wrapped presents tonight, decorated hot chocolate jars and cut then assembled a 2 page layout that I designed yesterday on the gypsy. Tomorrow I will be tired.

holly tree

It is mostly sunny and 37 outside here in southern NJ at 3 pm. This holly tree is in my back yard.

Saturday, December 4, 2010

ughhhh

Over the course of last year I made 60 homemade Christmas cards.. How can that not be enough??
Guess what I am doing tomorrow? I got all my mailing cards ready to go tonight but I don't have any left for the ones I hand deliver at church.

Thursday night scrapbooking

What did I take with me?? School work. Pain in the, oh well you get the idea to collate and assemble alphabet books for my 35 plus BSI students but they really do love the predictable books. It makes them feel like readers!!! Plus they take them home and practice reading again and again. I assembled enough to take me into mid January with doing one letter of the alphabet a week.

For some reason my creativity is a little lacking as of late and I need to get myself back in the groove. I think less time on blogs and more time crafting might do it.

shopping just about done!

All I have left to do is stocking stuff and make a donation to a charity for my ex-father in law. He says he needs nothing so I donate to the local animal shelter as his Christmas gift. I have to finishing wrapping and then I can get back to crafting and enjoying the holidays.

Imagine frustrated tonight

I have spent the last hour working on the advanced calibration settings trying to get the cut more aligned. I don't know why the calibration went off. Haven't moved my machine. I am close but its still not perfect.. Stopping and going to bed early. Been fighting a mild cold.

Sunday, November 28, 2010

crafted today after all!

My daughter left to go back to school at 4:30 so in the craft room I came. I finished another 2 page layout for my sons graduation book and made an imagine xmas card. I am having trouble with the imagine cutting correctly. It was fine before so I don't know what is up. The red pattern paper and the xmas tree are from the snow angels imagine cartridge.

Happy, happy family time.

I have been enjoying having my family here, decorating for Christmas, and meeting old high school friends home for the holidays. Back to reality tomorrow and a more relaxed schedule. Hope to get crafting tonight or tomorrow night. I need to do an advanced calibration on my Imagine. I have been putting it off but I don't like the cuts I am getting.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all my blogger friends.

Both children safely home for Thanksgiving. Yeah!

Lori's garden

I got my imagine Lori's garden cart today. Only had a little time to play but I think this thank you card works for another teacher friend gift for Christmas. I will make probably 5 more for a set. Everyone can always use a nice stash of thank you cards. The embossing folder is plum blossoms. Not sure if I should have inked or if it needs doodles. Sometimes the finishing touches come the next day when I look at it again. PS... feel the cutting was a little off on this design so i may re-calibrate the Imagine before I cut the rest.

Hot Chocolate Jar

I am giving away a couple hot chocolate jars tomorrow so I thought I would post what one looks like completed.

Finally some pictures

I made 8 of these monogram note cards this week for a friends birthday that is coming up. I am also working on a 8 X 8 album for my son that celebrates his undergraduate and graduate degree from college. He complained that I have made several for my daughter and none for him. Sorry about that. Girls just lend themselves to cute little albums.

Friday

I actually did get crafting in on Wednesday and Thursday. I hope to take some pictures to get up on the site tomorrow. It was a hectic week with meetings and getting back to the gym.. Off to my first Holiday party tonight. Can you believe it?? It is a Toy drive party for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Hope they collect lots of goodies.

Last Night

I worked on 8 new monogram note cards. I got all the layering and embossing done. Tonight I just have to cut and add the monogram layers. I am giving these to several people for Christmas. Been a busy week. Last night was my first one home.

Sunday, November 14, 2010

Sunday

I have been busy, busy today. I made 12 jars of homemade hot chocolate that I give out at Christmas. I am going to wrap the jars with paper that I punched the edges on and made 12 of the tags pictured here to match the patterned Christmas paper. I won't put the paper and tags on until I am ready to hand them out so they don't get ruined. Then I made 4 of these monogram cards to go in the wooden calendar holder as another Christmas gift. I got the idea from this card from a blog. I apologize that I don't remember where I saw it but I had saved a sketch of it. Please know that this is not my original design and I wish I could give credit to the designer. On the card I used the distressed stripes embossing folder, and the C is from Storybook.

Give up

Okay tonight I was experimenting with embossing Imagine images to use in projects as per a tip on the cricut circle. I have to say that it takes about 3 coatings but then it looks like the enamel embellishments to buy! Very cool. Now I just have to learn how to take pictures inside that are not all flash white that show what I am talking about. Sorry for no photo. I will try and take one outside tomorrow.

Thursday, November 11, 2010

leaves, leaves and more leaves

I haven't crafted ( even with being off from work for Veterans Day) but my moms yard is free of leaves at least for now. Of all the yard work there is to be done raking and blowing leaves is the one I dislike the most. It's scrapping night at church so I have that to look forward too.

Imagine Nation Monday challenge

I am working on wooden calendars tonight but took a quick time out to make an anniversary card for my ex-in laws and enter the Imagine Nation Challenge. I used the Yummy cart, dotted swiss cuttlebug folder and buttons.

Sunday, November 7, 2010

more calendars

Working on finishing up 3 more wooden calendars to get a clean slate in my craft room going. At least two more nights, inking, glimmer misting and cutting pieces to go. Hopefully after that I will move on to holiday projects swirling in my brain. Wish I had all the calendars in hand when I was on a roll but had to order some. When you get an idea you want to go with it . I find going back to that idea like these calendars a chore.

Finally a whole night of crafting

I have just not had the crafting bug but tonight made up for it. I made 5 turkeys from create a critter for my school bulletin board. Last month I had five jack-o-lanterns sitting on a fence like the little jingle so I decided to leave the fence up and change it out with 5 turkeys. I will try and take a picture on Monday when I put them up. I cut them at 10 3/4 because that was the largest I could cut all the layers on a 12" mat. After that I made penguins for my daughters sorority bulletin board using create-a-critter. I was like didn't I cut penguins last year. I got the look. You know. Apparently penguins are some kind of something to the girls so they always use them in the winter bulletin board in the student common area for their sorority. Then I made little favors to place on everyones plate for Thanksgiving. I have been wanting to do something. Last year I cut little bags and put candy in them. I got the inspiration for this from My Pink Life' s candy holders. I used cosmo cricket paper and the turkey was create-a-critter cut at 2 inches and the turkeys actually look just like the ones I cut at 10 3/4 inches. I got the ribbon in the clearance section at Acmoore. I bought it because it matched the paper. I will slide a bag of nuts into the opening. I decided on nuts this year because my brother is diabetic and this will be something he can enjoy and eat for a change.

Friday, November 5, 2010

Been Away

I have been away in Atlantic City at the NJEA convention. Hope to get back to crafting tomorrow. I need to make a November Bulletin Board to put up on Monday. I also need to make the thanksgiving table favors and the list goes on. I better get busy now that I am home.

Going Buggy: WIN THE ENTIRE RANGE OF 148 PROMARKERS

Going Buggy: WIN THE ENTIRE RANGE OF 148 PROMARKERS

election day

I haven't feeling very crafty after the loss of my friend but tonight I tried to play with the smiley cart. I find it difficult to figure out with no images to view and no manuel. I live right out of Philly the soft pretzel city, thus the pretzel card. The base was the shadow welded to make the card base. I added stickles, doodles and the stamp is from My Pink Stamper.

Please exercise your right to vote!

Friday

I want to say that one of the reasons that I started this blog was that I have a very good friend who has been disabled with a degenerative muscle condition as a way for her to see my creations. She is the person who encouraged me to spend the money to get my gypsy and Imagine. She always said look at me.. this is your one love, enjoy it while you can. Well I haven't posted much this week because she is in her final days if not hours. I will miss my daily conversations with her. Linda everytime I use my gyspy and Imagine I will think of you.

Polka dot challenge

Okay Emma gave a hint last night it would be a polka dot challenge so I started early because I am going out tonight after work. I used the Yummy cart to make this card.

Sunday, October 24, 2010

Calendar

Okay I saw this on creations with Christina today and decided I had to make it so off to ACMoore I went. Christina's looks way better than mine, plus mine looks better in person. I am going to make 4 of these, place homemade note cards in the back section with envelopes for the 4 teachers I exchange gifts with at work for Christmas. The pattern paper used was from the old Luxury stack from DCWV and the plain paper from shimmer DCWV. Walnut stain and several glimmer mist colors.

Emma gave a hint that tomorrows Imagine Challenge will have polka dots so I am making mine now. I won't be home tomorrow night. Going to a nook class. I made the cuts, have to assemble and then got to bed. It was a bad week last week and this am did not start well with my cking account emptied... My Debit card was compromised. YUCK! I am done with debit cards. Credit or cash. That way I can pay my bills on time. I found it when I went to my online bill payer to pay bills and the money was gone. I hope everyone enjoyed all the purchases in Miami since I live in South Jersey. Hello 850.00 at a liquor store???

Halloween cards

My friend asked for a couple of Halloween cards for her grandchildren. The first was similar to one already posted so I won't re-post that one. These two are from the Wild Card cart. I learned that when making the envelope for the pumpkin card not to assemble it until you lay the card in it. The thickness of the card made it not fit the first time and I had to redo it. The monster card I made twice. I HATED the first one. My son walked in and said how about green. I had it in mind for a little boy. My son said cuttlebug it. And he made handcut the tongue for me. I think it came out cute considering how much I disliked the first one.

Saturday

I started a new 8 X 8 album for my son at scrap night this week. If he will let me I will post pictures when it is done. It will contain all his undergraduate and grad school graduation photos. This morning I made to personal sympathy cards I did not take pictures of. They are just for those people. A co-worker good friend went in to pre-term labor at 5 months and lost her little girl this week and another co-worker's husband succumbed to cancel on Friday morning so it was a sad week at my school. This afternoon I got Yummy in the mail so tonight I made a cupcake birthday card for a friend who loves cupcakes. I am going out to lunch with her and a group of other girls next Saturday for a girls birthday lunch.

Wednesday

I am cutting various size bats tonight for the speech therapist at work for some activity she is doing. Adding lots of stickles. I have to say now that the gypsy talks to the Imagine I can FINALLY see how I might not need my expression so much. Loving it. Please excuse the faux blue wall painting. What can I say it was a moment of madness at a bad time in my life a few years ago. On another wall I have paint samples taped up. Trying to pick a green for the room but can't decide.

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

sorry no photos today

No photos today. I have been experimenting with the Imagine and gypsy working together. You can't add color yet with the gypsy so I played with inserting squares on the screen, then adding the patterns, then hitting print only on the Imagine. Then inserting images in that area of the mat on the gypsy, reloading the same paper and cutting the images so they have the pattern on them when cut. One way to do it until all the updates are out.

Monday, October 18, 2010

more sympathy cards

This card is very similar to another batch I just made. I was not feeling original tonight with my cards. My mom asked for several sympathy cards last week. Seems like I never have enough of them. Not really a card I like to have to send if you know what I mean. DCWV papers and stampin up stamps. I also worked on a 2-page layout and began organizing pictures for a little 8 X 8 album for my son with undergrad and grad school graduation photos in it. I just updated my Imagine and gypsy so they are supposed to work together now. Gonna go see what I can figure out.

Darla

My little Darla passed away this afternoon. She was 15 years old. I will so miss her sitting on my lap when I am crafting.

Throwback Thursday Animal Theme

Here is my entry for Emma's Throw Back Thursday animal theme. I used paper pups cart at 5 ". I used the blackout to create the shaped card base on the gypsy, then the solid and regular feature on the dog. .. Cinnamon stickles for the eyes, a stampin up stamp and brown and tan paper from my stash.

snowman card

I have had the pieces of this snowman on my craft table unfinished for weeks. I don't remember what size I cut the snowman I just know it is a 5 X 7 card, bigger than I normally make. The snowman was cut from snow friends, the paper base and ribbon Hawaiian shores from papertrey ink and the white shimmer paper bulk end paper I got at CKC. The face is from Peachy Keen winter face assortment.

scrap night

Its scrap night. Don't know how much I will get done. Taking school work with me that needs to be prepped. I really enjoyed Emma's live stream last night.

Note cards gift.

Two summers ago I reconnected with several high school friends on facebook. We generally get together for small b-day celebrations. One of the girls birthday is next week. She loves craft shows and handmade goods (is not crafty herself). I made a set of 8 of these note cards that will go into a clear acetate box from papertrey ink. C is her first initial and she loves music and should be on a modern day Name That Tune. I used the Imagine more cart for the oval and musical notes and Storybook cart for the initial.

Imagine Challenge

Okay I have not done a challenge since school started so tonight was the night after shopping at the outlets all day in Atlantic City with my kids. Time to carve out some me time before school tomorrow. To create this card I took the rectangle from Plantin Schoolbook at I think 5 inches then filled it in with the cloud pattern from Best Friends. I outlined the clouds with a sparkle gel pen. The frame with the flowers I think was cut at 5.2 in layers and just the red balloon layer from the bunch of balloons with it also set at 5.2. The stamp used was My Pink Stamper Everyday Occasions. The card base was enchanted evening from Papertrey ink. A little white gel doodle added here and there.

more xmas cards

I started making 4 of these wreath cards on Thursday night at scrapbooking. Finally put the finishing bow touch on when I got home from Atlantic City. This makes 46 Christmas cards done. I have 6 more 1/2 done. The snowmen are all cut an assembled I haven't decided on the card base yet. This wreath card used the same branch punch that I used in some tree cards right after CKC at Valley Forge. The paper and stamps are all papertrey ink. Ribbon clearance stuff from my stash.

sorry

So sorry no new projects to share. I have been just taking a few days off from crafting in the evenings. Had a big night watching the Phillies and Eagles play at the same time last night. Today heading out to Atlantic City for some outlet shopping with my children.

Saturday Bliss

I have managed to fool around all morning and half the afternoon reading a book and blogs. Isn't life wonderful? Time for reality the vacuum is calling my name....

Go Phillies

Okay I just had to put that in because Halladay just pitched an awesome game. Congrats to him. I took last night off from crafting. Finished a good book. I did finished a couple of layouts the night before last but I have to take pictures of my 12 X 12 layouts outside or they don't photograph well. The weather here has been rainy and wet so I can't take pictures outside. I really need to get one of those natural lights for my crafting room. Maybe then I won't have to go outside holding up paper when I am trying to match colors. HAHAHA Gonna play with my Imagine now TTL.

Sunday, October 3, 2010

okay

I just worked on a 2 page layout from my nieces son's birthday on Labor Day weekend. I like to lay it out and walk away before I tape down. Then I don't regret it...thus the wine fest 2 - page layout that is too blue and still needs me to go back and add something. Any how I digress. So on the page when Eddie is blowing out candles I write blow.... My son just walked in and gave me all the negative connotations for blow so that I need to rethink what it shall say next to the pictures of him blowing out his candles. Maybe if I just add the ing .. Thus I will not have more pictures to post tonight while I ponder the new title. Who knew that when you are looking at birthday pictures that the term could be referenced to drugs or sexual content?

sympathy card

I seem to always be running low on sympathy cards. I got the inspiration for this card at the stampin up demonstrators house on Friday night. Layout from her but the stamps and colors all different from what she used. Stamps are both stampin up, card base is papertrey ink and the pattern paper is DCWV. I actually made 4 versions of this with slightly different paper choices.

Saturday

I have to say that I cleaned the house, decorated for fall and it took forever because I had to ck out every stop on the pink cricut Imagine blog hop and then every hour Christina from creations with christina posted a video and then on the half hour a give-a-way. It was so fun. My daughter worked 8 - 2 at her local job for some spending money at school then we were off for hours of shopping. She wanted new rain boots. Did not find what she wanted in her size but I got an over the door shoe holder to put my punches in at the container store. Got home, ate and watched the videos I had missed. BTW I think rain boots are a summer thing. Her current pair is 3-4 years old and they have discolored. Any how gotta say I got lots of inspiration today. Hope to act on it tomorrow. It will be a long day with church services, then a memorial for a truly inspirational lady who passed on this week at the ripe age of 97. My daughter works tomorrow again from 8 - 2 then heads back to college. The good news is she will be home next weekend as well for fall break. I have missed her. She needs to come home every so many weeks to work for them to consider her an active employee and this weekend was a must to be on the active list. I have to say they have been very accommodating and I am thankful she has this opportunity to work to make some spending money at school.

Friday, October 1, 2010

Friday

Sorry no posts for a few days but I had a retirement dinner last night and my daughter came home for the weekend from college today and I have not seen her since August. Went shopping with her right after work and then to a Stampin Up Open House at my favorite demonstrators house. Tired... Hope to get some crafting in on the weekend around house work and spending time with my daughter. I want to ck in on world card making day at creations with christina blog and the Imagine blog hop. I miss doing bog hops since school started. The good news kinda is that I hired someone to cut the grass for the rest of the season with my fractured ankle. I would rather spend the money on crafts but oh well.

Imagine sympathy card

This card is much prettier in person than it photographs. The flower cuts are the Imagine More Card with layers and stickles. The stamp is stampin up and the ribbon and card base is paper trey ink.

Playing with the Imagine

A very simple card with a few stickles added for fun.

Tuesday

I have to say that the more I look at the 2 page wine fest spread with the flags the more it is lacking.. Such is life. I will keep cking it out till I add what is missing. Yeah I have the splint off my foot. No more crutches, just a boot for 5 to 6 weeks. I can take it off to shower and sleep. Yeah! I went back to school tonight so I didn't craft. Just tried to get caught up on reading my favorite blogs.

exhausting

All I can say is that trying to walk all day yesterday on crutches was exhausting. I got home and did nothing. My right hip is killing me from taking all my body's weight. Hope to get a walking cast today at the orthopedic doctor to make getting around easier. I am so grateful for my son's help.

Not original idea

Okay the idea for this tree came from My Creative Time with Emma. The tree is cut from the shapes on the Imagine and the pattern on the tree is from the Nursery cart. I used clear stickles, shimmer red from DCWV embossed with spots and dots cuddlebug folder and the card base and ribbon are from papertrey ink.

layouts using Imagine

On the top 2 pages I used the Imagine to make the patterned flags. The other cuts were done using the gypsy and expression. The bottom 2 layouts were done completely using the Imagine.

crafting plans have changed

Well, my weekend crafting plans have changed. I stepped in what I think was a mole hole when clearing the gardens and hurt...yes my bad ankle. I decided that this time I should x-ray it as I have had such problems from the last injury..It has a fracture. They don't know if it was fractured before and I re-injured or just fractured today.. Not having a lot of luck taking care of house business. The first injury was cleaning out the basement, today was cleaning out the annuals and putting in mums.

update on layouts

I printed and cut all the pieces for 1, 2 page layout from last night. This layout is all Imagine. It is not popped or adhered yet so can't take a picture. Experimenting with the Imagine takes some time. I used some Georgia Pacific card stock on the smaller cuts tonight and found out two things. It is thicker than the white value pack from ACMoore I bought the other night and I think the colors are more vibrant on it. I should have gotten the HSN high quality bazzill 12 X 12 but alas it is sold out. The other thing I learned was that it was not cutting all the way through and I turned up the blade and it still did not cut all the way through and then I had an aha moment.. Pressure. Where is the pressure setting on the Imagine? It is not a manuel setting like on the expression and it doesn't remind you to ck the pressure like on the gypsy so beware! I also cut a few more pieces for another layout. Tomorrow night after much yard work I will switch to the expression to complete my layouts as the designs are all planned on the gypsy and that is not Imagine friendly yet.

Oh I realized tonight how gypsy dependent I have become because I had the hardest time sizing things to fit my page on the Imagine. I am so used to using the gypsy and sizing it to the mat on screen and cutting I have been spoiled. It is hit or miss again with the Imagine until it can work with the gypsy.

Also, I was extremely disappointed that they put out an Imagine update today but it was only windows friendly. Thank goodness that I could use my work laptop to update. I sincerely hope that they do not continue with the MAC users being left behind. Not fair as that was never mentioned in the information presented about the Imagine.

busy wwek

I have had a busy week. Last night at scrapping I designed 3 two page layouts using regular carts and the Imagine. Now I just have to find the time this weekend to get it all cut out and put together. I have to get fall yard work done this weekend. That has to come first. Hoping with work that things get into the groove soon.

Create a critter & Imagine

Last night I played around learning how to use an old cricut cart in the Imagine with the Imagine More card for adding colors. I played with patterns on the layers and even using the color wheel to pick the solid color for the feet and beak. The grass was just green card stock embossed with the forest branches cuddlebug folder.
NO crafting today.. I had my trainer at the gym after school and I am going to the board of education meeting tonight.

experimenting with the Imagine

I just cut the layers of the bird from create-a-critter adding the colors with the Imagine. Just to figure this all out. I put some stickles on it so it has to dry before I assemble the card. Photo tomorrow.

Best Friends Imagine Card

If I were to make this card again I would change the green background to make more contrast. I simply left the colors the way they were on the cart and mounted it on a pale pink card base to match the pink in rule. I did add some glitter gel pen. Much of the patterns and backgrounds on this cart have an aged/distressed look to them.

Imagine

I was just experimenting with my Imagine that arrived yesterday. So much to learn. This simple wall hanging was made using the Nursery Tails Imagine cart. A friend at works daughter is due to have a little girl in 2 weeks and the room is brown and pink so when I saw this pattern background I experimented.

Sunday

No crafting today. It was moma's day. I have season tickets for a local theater with my mom. Our tickets are for the Sunday 2 pm show. I take her to church, give her a rest then we see the show and have dinner out together. Saw Lost in Yonkers. Fabulous local production and enjoy spending the day with my 89 year old mom. The best part is this theater was the place she worked at in high school selling candy at the concession stand. Every time we go she shares another tid-bit of memory about the theater.

frustrated

I have to say that the reliability of blogger is frustrating. I hate page not found when you know there is one out there somewhere.

B-day card

Well, I rearranged my craft space. My 6ft table is in place waiting for my Imagine that should arrive on Monday according to tracking! I love, can you hear me say LOVE my new swivel memory foam office chair!!! Now if my son is not home how will I lift it to set it up? I figure I can slide it into the house but the rest?? I am not supposed to lift over 25 pounds since my surgery last spring.. HUMMM I will be knocking on my neighbors door, trust me.

This card is for a friend I made today using DCWV paper, pooh marker font, and a balloon from create-a-critter. I am NOT a girly, girl but somehow I have the hardest time trying to create a card for a male.

table

I purchased my table for my craft room today after work. A nice 6ft long one from Sams club. I got a new rolling chair to roll from my computer to craft table as well. It is so nice with memory foam in it. Hope to get the room rearranged tomorrow. I am leaning back towards green for the room LOL. I think it is going to take me a while. I just think the green is warm with the brown shelves. I was able to make it to the gym as well. It helped to work out, work frustration from last nights Open House at school.

Thursday

Its back to school night at my school. I am hoping that things slow down soon and I get in more crafting. I was out shopping last night for a table. I found one but it won't fit in my car. Thanks Channon who will take me Friday after work to get it. Tossing an old love seat in my scraproom and putting in a 6ft table. A nice home for my imagine when it comes. Taping up paint samples. Thought I wanted green but none thrill me so it will be back to the paint store for more. The craft room as well as my bedroom are in dire need of painting. Out with the faux into the solid colors.

Layout with a mistake!!

Okay can you spot my mistake??? This is what I get for not paying attention. I never glue letters but I ran out of xyron. Thankfully I had the same color papers and the layout is redone correctly!

ughhh

When I took a picture of one of the layouts from last night I had glued down two letters out of order. They won't lift so I need to redo the page!
