no crafts to share

When I got in my craft room this week I spent most of my time organizing and ordering more photos to scrap my daughters graduation album. I will not be crafting any time soon as I am packing to go to NEA in Chicago and won't return till July 6th. When I get home I promised to paint my moms family room, then I am going to empty my craft room... paint and hopefully organize things better before I move everything back in.. Lots of high hopes for a busy summer. I have been walking every morning at 7 am in my promise to take off the 25 pounds I gained in a year. 2 surgeries and a broken ankle will do that to you.. Happy 4th to everyone..

B-day card

My daughters birthday is coming up so since she was working this afternoon I took advantage and made her card. The base is PTI black card stock. All the layers of colored paper were colored using the Imagine bubblegum stripes. I used the stock square image from the imagine for the striped and orange layers. The cake was from sweet treats and each layer colored using Bubblegum stripes to match the first layer. I did some accent sewing, diamond and yellow stickles, some imaginisce gems and a little ink.

finished

I finished making all the colored images into cards.. I added ribbon to the last two I made then looked at the others and thought.. Gee I should have put ribbon on all of them but I kinda mostly do not redo what I have done...

stamps

After my purchase of copics I borrowed a bag of stamps from a friend. I stamped a bunch of these flower stampin up stamps a while ago and just yesterday got around to coloring them :-) I cut the circles on the cricut using plantin schoolbook. The papers were all scraps except for the papertrey ink card base and I used a nestabilities big scalloped circles die to frame the stamped image.

super fast thank you

I needed a super fast thank you card and the Imagine came to the rescue.. Along with Lori's garden.

copics

I went to Michael's to see if the rumor was true from the message boards that they had copics in our area and the answer is yes...The price.. You have got to be kidding me there are not enough 40% and 50% coupons to compete with oozak.com. I also want to point out that I bought an Imagine at launch and not one Michael's, AC Moore or Joann's in my near me carry ANY imagine products!!! I am disgusted with that..

Got the album my daughter wanted for her graduation album today at 40% off and some clearance stamps.. I came home ready to craft after my haul.. copic colored 7 really small stamped images for cards and then my kids kidnapped me to the family room for a really late nigh grilled dinner and TV... 3 episodes of Love it or list it on OWN.

schools out!!!

I hope to get caught up around here and get more crafting in than I have in the last few weeks. My summer project is my daughters graduation album..

Now on another note I want to list a pet peeve... I really dislike when bloggers announce challenges to win blog candy and the date comes and goes and no winner is announced. I think I am done with challenges for a while and will just craft for me.. :-)

luggage tags

I am going to Chicago in about 2 weeks for NEA and I hate trying to figure out which are my bags. I usually try a colored ribbon on the handle but I decided this time to cut some charms from the doodlecharms cart and get them laminated. I flood filled the shapes with different patterns from the Bubblegum Stripes Imagine pattern cart.

non craft post

My daughter got her unofficial computer results this am that she passed her enclex. Woot...Woot... Now the sad part.. Although there is still a national nursing shortage our area has an over abundance of nursing schools and jobs are hard to find... I told her... you are young go where ever.. I figure where I retire will be hopefully in the middle of where my kids settle. I don't want her to limit herself to this area with a BSN of nursing. Her passion is working with the elderly and I hope she can reach her dream.. I know it stems from my parents always taking care of my kids when I worked in early years and later watching my dad take the slow slide with emphysema asbestosis lung decease.

gift bag and matching card

I have been wanting to actually sew a card for sometime but to be honest I have been lazy.... I know how to sew really well because my mom made sure I knew how. Clothes, costumes, drapes you name it. Ha.. I just really don't like to do it.. Anyhow I sewed a card this afternoon... clap, clap!
The cupcake and saying are from Sweat Treats and all the colors are from the Bubblegum Stripes colors and patterns cartridges.

card to match gift bag

okay this card didn't turn out quite the way I wanted but it will be okay. I always prepare materials in advance to take to scrap night. Didn't have time last night so after school quickly cut the pieces on the Imagine for the girl to assemble the card at the church tonight... Don't know what I was thinking. I cut her at 4" and I wanted it to be a tall card... Regroup. I borrowed a punch from my friend at the scrap and turned the card around. Added a little stickles. I hope you look at how tiny the heel cut is on the shoe of the girl. I think that is the most amazing thing to me about the Imagine. How much more intricate the cuts are with NO tearing.

sorry MIA

I am down to the last 6 days for students and 7 days for me and it is crazy hectic plus I am attending meetings at the county and state level to prepare for the NEA conference. So no craft time but it is all good.

gift bag

I got the idea for making gift bags using the Forever Young Cart from Okieladybug. I used the Imagine bubblegum stripes to print all the colored layers for the clothing.

Imagine bubblegum stripes

I used tags, bags, boxes and more to make this box to put the bracelet in. I printed on violet paper so that the inside wasn't plain.. I love the vibrant patterns on the bubblegum stripes cartridge.

bracelet

I don't know as soon as summer is almost here I start beading.. Mostly I think because I like sparkly anklets.. This however is a bracelet made for my friend who I made the M note cards for... She is lucking out that I am still limited in my lifting and such and crafting is one thing I can do :-)

Another welding card

I again used Amy Butler K&Company double sided paper for the welded base. The M welded to the rectangle was from Winter Woodland. I welded the shadow feature then cut the shadow and regular uppercase M font and glued on as a layer. I made 4 of each pattern as a set of note cards for a co-worker's birthday next week. The inside is lined with white paper for her to write in.

welding cards

Well today I am into welding images into the end of a rectangle to form an A2 size card when folded then adding the layers on top of the cut image. The cupcake from this card was cut from Sweet Treats. I used double sided K&Company Amy Butler paper with coordinating colors to cut the base.

Something I can post

Creations with Christina said to take a picture of your craft space and link it up... here's mine. I have 2 tables... one okay and one messy/messy... OKAY I know the paint job needs to go.. I have had paint samples posted in my room for months trying to decide what color.. I did.. It will be my summer project when I get back from the NEA Conference in Chicago this summer.. My computer desk actually sits between these two desks in a corner and my expression is on the other side of the room.

propably no posts this week

I went back to work yesterday 12 days after my hernia surgery... I came home and slept for 2 hours. I don't think it helped that the AC unit went out mid-morning in my class and won't be fixed anytime soon. (The maintenance men are besides themselves. The unit on the roof was replaced last year. I hope it is still under warranty) I did much better today. I didn't need a nap but I did lay down a bit. It also helped that I moved to an empty classroom that has AC. It was 96 unseasonably warm muggy degrees here this afternoon when we should be in the low 80's. I just don't have it in me to sift through paper tonight and come up with a card so I am going to catch up on reading all my blogs. Happy Crafting to all of you. Hope to have my stamina built back up soon. PSS hoping my string of bad luck hit the 3's and done....hysterectomy surgery..broken ankle....surgery because I got a hernia in my surgery incision... All in 13 months!!! I give.. Uncle...enough. Happy days are ahead.. I am thankful for my caregiver son..:-)
