chipboard book complete

I think the chipboard book is mostly done. I may add a few more embellishments as they come to me but here are some pictures.

Gypsy

Okay after looking at Emma Aguilar's blog I know that I am not utilizing my gypsy to its potential. So this spring/Easter card was made to practice flipping and welding shapes together. Mostly I have only been using the Gypsy to weld letters and create a few scrapbook layouts.

Mini album

I have been watching the mini series on chipboard albums on "Creations with Christina". It gave me the push to make my very first one. I have all my pages covered, sanded and inked around the edges. I dabbed versamark dazzle all over the pages to give them a little sheen. I struggled with the eyelets. The ones I put in on Thursday night fell out because they weren't big enough. I went to Michaels after work and found bigger ones (1/4")in the fabric section that that I think give the pages a nice finished look. None of these embellishments on the cover are glued down yet, I am still playing with it. The book will be a gift to a fellow teacher who is expecting her first child in June.

chip board album

I am currently working on my first ever chip board album for a baby gift. I will post pictures when it is complete. It will take a while so I will probably take side trips into a few cards along the way.

more dark cards

Here are the final two black and cream cards I made last night. I will move on to a new color palate next time I get to make cards. Tonight I am cleaning and then dancing with the stars.

A dark color peek-a-boo card

Another dark colored card. The black paper has flocking on it and I embossed the black circle that was cut from sweet treats on one of the flower's blackout setting.

Sunday

Well, I managed to fit in some crafting today after all. Recently I went to pull out a card for my friends son's 18th B-day and I realized that many of my cards are all pastels and not really appropriate for males. So last weekend when I hit the craft stores I looked for paper that would create some more masculine type cards. Here is my first simple card with non-pastels.

Saturday

Alas, my cricut has been silent since I think Tuesday and it will continue. I have been bogged down helping friends at school make some centers for the new reading program and my son came home Thursday night for the weekend. I have not seen him since the holidays so we have lots to catch up on. I haven't even had time to watch all the new posts by the pink stamper since Hello Thursday. I will get back to crafting next week.

more peek-a-boo

More peek-a-boo card. Inspiration for the peek-a-boo cards comes from Momo.

oops the picture didn't upload. Trying again.

Bulletin Board

Well, I have spring fever. We went from snow storms to a terrible weekend nor'easter that dumped tons of rain on us. Yesterday I cut on my cricut all afternoon to create this bulletin board for school today. I used Paisley, Forever Young, Sweet Treats, and Makin the Grade Cartridges.

Peek-A-Boo note card

The inspiration for this Peek-A-Boo note card comes from Momo's blog. I used the Forever Young Cricut Cart for the flower. The rest of the day will but cutting flowers for my spring bulletin board at school.

B-Day Card

What a yucky day here today. Terrible wind and rain from a nor'easter. Wish I could stay in all day but I have to get my mom some medicine. I made this card to use up the scraps from the retirement card so the color scheme is the same.

Another retirement card

Well, I went to Joanne's and Michaels last night with my friend Linda and bought pretty, pretty paper. I could just sit and look at it and touch it all day and not cut it up it is so darn cute. I was going to wait until today to make something, but while I was looking at it and matching colors together I got the idea for this retirement card my mom asked me to make so I ended up making most of it last night and then finishing off taping together this am after the pigment ink (color coffee bean) dried.

snowflake cricut layout

I used my new snowflake cartridge to create a 2 page layout tonight of pictures from one of our many snow storms here in South Jersey this winter. I really had to slow the cutting speed and reduce pressure to prevent tearing when cutting the snowflakes.

Finally

Finally my new cricut carts arrived from custom crops today. I ordered them on February 26th and I just got all 5 today.. I have been very busy with after school meetings at the board office, grocery shopping and lent bible study tonight but I managed to fit in drooling over all the images I can try to create with my new carts. The one impulse cart was the designers calendar... That one is going to take some creativity to be worth its expense. I am sure I will manage. I am falling asleep while typing. Need my rest for scrapbook night tomorrow night. The cricut is packed and ready to go.

quick easter cards

Well, I had a stressful weekend dealing with a sick mom and then shipping my daughter back to college. Much stress at work the last two days so I made a couple really quick Easter cards tonight for therapy before the biggest loser comes on. I have been doing WW since January 1 but not attending meetings. I watch the biggest loser faithfully for my inspiration. Any way I digress. These cards are very simple but making them calmed me to forget my troubles. ☺

Saturday

No projects today.. Spent 7 1/2 hours in the ER with my mom for a drug interaction. Whew.. all is well for her at 88. Yesterday after work I completed working on the top secret birthday project so I hope all went well there tonight for my friend and her husband. I really do think that I am looking forward to the calm tomorrow after my daugher leaves so I can veg and watch the Oscars. (Love her to death but the few days she has been here of her spring break have been a whirl wind.) I am holding back on scrapbook pages waiting for my Custom Crops order. They really are a bit slow since I placed the order 8 days ago and it hasn't shipped yet.

scrap night

It is very rare for my scrapbook group to have a night that just doesn't work for the core group but tonight seemed to be it. Sooo since my daughter is home on spring break, tonight we made posters using the cricut for her sorority St. Paddy's Day fundraiser and I helped her with the scrapbook for the sorority. Gee I wonder why she volunteered to be the scrapbook girl...

top secret

I spent the evening last night after lent bible study working with two friends on one of their husbands birthday surprise. Its top secret but lets just say that the cricut was humming last night.
Today is my favorite day of the week. My scrapbook group meets every Thursday at my church for scrapbooking/card making with lots of socializing in between.

Peek-A-Boo

I have no place to go after school today so I am so excited to make some peek-a-boo cards that I saw made by Momo. I won't post pictures because they are not my own idea but I will post the link for Momo so you can see her make it.

My first pop-up card

March 1st

I am finally feeling better and back to crafting. My son jokingly said he wanted a fancy, amazing pop-up card for his birthday. Well, I do like a challenge so I am working on a pop-up card and I have card layers with stickle drying all over the place.
