daughters b-day card

I used I think sweet treats for the cuts. On the green numbers I covered in a fine glitter then covered with glossy accents. (It almost looks like I just used a store bought glitter paper in the first place) The happy birthday has gel pen stitching then stickles on top of it. The flames have orange and red stickles. This is my first easel card ever.

Today it is sort and iron clothes. Tomorrow clean house and do last minute errands then early Wednesday I am off to Washington DC for first sight seeing then starting June 30th the NEA RA. I will be home on July 6th on my daughters birthday.

Notice I said I was cleaning tomorrow. Lets hope when I come home on the 6th she has cleaned it again for me!!!! I  already have a list on the kitchen counter of everything she needs to remember to do like feed dog, bird, water flowers, etc.

I am walking everyday but still struggling to get the whole healthy eating going. I did great all week then went out with friends on Saturday and undid some of my success for the week. SIGH!

Mini Album

My neighbor across the street is due with a little guy any day now. I made this for her. The paper was K&Company Itsy Bitsy. After the glue dried and I sanded and inked the edges I sprayed all the pages with marshmallow glimmer mist. The It's a boy and the announcing page were printed and cut from the Imagine Cartridge Nursery Tails. I only did a few embellishments inside. I left most of the pages blank but am enclosing some cute little baby boy stickers and journal tags cut from Nursery Tails for her to embellish after she adds her pictures.

Sprinkle Today

We are having a sprinkle for a co-worker due with a little girl at our end of school year picnic. (Kind of telling that we aren't having till after school is out. Everyone needed a few days to recover first) I made these cards yesterday for that and for our curriculum director due the end of the month. I don't have many cricut baby images so I downloaded this from the silhouette store. I love that you can do that for 99 cents.. Most of the paper is papertrey ink. The ribbon is from my stash. One of those clearance items you pick up to just have on hand when you need it kind of thing.

I'm also working on a chipboard baby book for my neighbor who is due any day now with a boy. I'll post pictures when I'm done.

Absent

I've been absent. The end of school sucks the life out of me. Then a little bug I think over the weekend. I will post when I can this summer but my first priority it trying to establish a more healthy lifestyle. Healthy eating and moving. I've had a bunch of health problems this past school year and both my allergist and internist say the number one thing I can so for myself is lose some weight so I'm gonna try. I'm not starting with WW points. First is stocking healthy foods and cooking homemade dinners everyday. Walking every morning. Once I get that going I will concentrate on the points or calories. I suspect just eating better and cutting out junk food is going to make a huge difference in my life.

Flower corsage

I posted flowers I made quite a while ago to be made into a corsage... Well the teacher luncheon they were for was postponed due to the teacher of the year having to take an emergency family leave to take care of her sick father. Anyhow a co-workers daughter is a florist. I gave her the flowers and leaves I cut and she wired and hot glued them into this beautiful corsage for a luncheon tomorrow afternoon to honor my schools teacher of the year. We all chipped in money and are having a nice catered lunch. I wish I could arrange the flowers I make this beautifully!!!

Saturated Canary

I downloaded this free digi from saturated canary a while ago and practiced coloring with my copics....It has lots of errors but I made it into a card tonight anyway. A dear co-worker that has a family history of breast cancer has to have a biopsy this week and I thought finding this in her mailbox would be a nice pick me up with my words of encouragement... Flaws and all.. Its the thought that counts not my being able to stay in the lines with all my coloring.

Quick and easy congrats card

A good friend and my niece will be graduating grade school this week so I made this quick and easy congrats card for them. The congrats is from the cricut Beyond Birthdays. The trick to cutting thick glitter paper is using the multi cut feature on your expression or gypsy.

Move is complete

How stinkin cute is this adorable place... This picture was taken before my son actually moved in. It was the day he picked up the key from the landlord. Brand new refurbished place. The movers took all his stuff on Friday. Saturday we spent ALL day there. I cleaned all the cabinets and basically set up the kitchen. Cleaned the bathroom and got it set up, and unpacked all the linens etc. He spend hours putting together his entertainment center. He came home again last night and then left this am with his last load of odds and ends.. Sigh.. I will miss him terribly but this is what we raise kids to be, independent. At least he is closer. I just wish I didn't have to drive the schuylkill to see him... I am not good on those kind of roads. I clench the wheel with my hands.

I have to get back to crafting tomorrow. I have a wedding planner book to finish by Saturday. Today I had to clean MY house and get all the laundry caught up. I hate the dogs massive shedding this time of year. It got out of control with all the packing boxes around the house the last week.
