bracelet

In March one of our secretaries retired. I found this school Secretaries bracelet and poem online and ordered it. Although the bracelet was nice my first thought was I could do better since I have taken basic beading classes before. Wellllll, another secretary is retiring and we are having her party on June 16 th. Everyone remembered me saying that I could make it so asked me to do so. The cost was actually about the same because I had to buy pkgs of the colored crystals instead of just one of the colors I needed but it is a much heavier weight solid silver bracelet then the one I bought. I then typed the poem and put it on an Imagine All wrapped up tag and made a matching box with a velcro closure to put it in.

recycled graduation card

I got the idea for this card from some blogger last year. I wish I could remember to give credit. I made several.. Well this is why they gypsy is so great. I needed a quick graduation card so I brought up the saved file and changed the year and reused the design.

Need to work on my photo skills

I made a shadow box for my mother with my daughter's nursing picture in it. I tried to take pictures of it inside, with flash, no flash, outside natural lighting.. No go. Outside you saw my reflection in the glass taking the picture. Inside I got light reflection that ruined the shot. Sooo I have no picture post today... At scrap group tonight I cut a bunch of pieces to make a patriot bulletin board for the end of the year.

Fathers Day Card

I used the Wild Card image #35 for this card. The card base was cut at 4 1/4 on PTI craft card stock. The frame was cut at 5.3 and colored with the Imagine Yummy cart brown color. The fish which were the shift icon feature were cut at 3.5 and also colored using a green pattern from the Imagine Yummy cart. I cut the happy Father's day phrase for the inside at 4.0 filled with the brown color again. I lined behind with opening with some blue paper and lightly inked the edges of the fish and card base with creamy brown. Some cinnamon stickles for the fish eyes.

Total scraplift

This is a total scraplift. Page 97 Cricut magazine by Melyssa Connolly.. She got her squares closer together than I managed to so if I try this again I will try to improve on my design. I also used a different font than she did because I did not have that cart. I used cuttin-up short stack. I cut my circles and squares with creative memories punches.

Get Whale Soon

I used PTI cardstock base that I drew a thin frame line on, then sprayed with 2 different colors of tattered angles glimmer mist. Pink Stamper stamp and an action wobble to attach the create-a-critter whale.

B-day layout

I used plantin schoolbook for the circles, elegant edges for the square frame, tags, bags boxes and more for the tags and cuttin-up for the numbers cartoon with shadow cut.

cricut magazine

I caved and ordered the cricut magazine recently.. Wow.. I should have ordered it when it first came out. I feel like I have been in a bit of a creative funk and this is giving me so many ideas. I rarely copy designs outright but seeing the work of others inspires me to try mixing layers and patterns in new ways. I also am determined to try real sewing on a card when I feel a little better this week. I did work a little on a layout yesterday. I hope to finish it today and take pictures.

I am not feeling great yet from my surgery but my great nephew graduates high school tomorrow and wanted to decorate his gift bag to match the card I made a week or so ago using the wild card cart..

Quick card

Last Sunday morning I realized I had not made a card for a young man in my church who was getting his Eagle Scout award so I literally made this card in 10 minutes..

I hope to have lots of crafting time during my week off :)... daughter moving home on Friday and I guess I will have to live with all the JUNK in the house area until I am able to MOVE it myself. LOL Glad to have her home but where the heck does the stuff come from every year?

3rd meal

On the third Monday of each month my church has started providing meals for the low income. Tonight was our 3rd month. It is starting slow but friends are telling friends and bringing them. We are getting mostly seniors from the 2 low income senior housing developments in town. We have people cook, clean, serve, and some of our seniors who can't do anymore just come and eat and fellowship with the people there for the meal. One of our regular ladies from the 1st month suggested tonight's menu.... Meatloaf... I had meatloaf duty last night. I mixed it in 2 pound increments and bought lots of loaf pans from the dollar store. When I got home from work I loaded my oven with tons of meatloaf. My son helped me carry it all on cookie sheets to the car, then church. (I live like a block from the church). It was a nice evening had by all. Meatloaf, Mac and cheese, green bean casserole, cooked carrots and rolls. Desserts. YUM.... I love that they set all the tables with tablecloths and real dishes so it feels like a family style meal. I think my house will smell like cooking meatloaf for days....:)

Woot, woot..

I have 2 more pages to scrapbook to be all caught up.. Good thing as my daughters college graduation pictures are on the way from snappish :)... I know I haven't posted the last 8 scrapbook pages.. I promise to try.. I usually photograph them outside but we are supposed to have rain in some form for the next week.

Good news my son and I kicked butt today and planted all the annuals, cannas, calla lilies, tomatoes, and basal. The last hour in light showers trying to get it done :)

This was #24 lace edge. I welded the shift book and then cut another layer with the holes for the white layer. Papertrey Ink paper, die #3 and fillable frames stamps.

Elegant Edges card

I got the idea for this card from Creations with Christina. I welded the shift book feature on key 28 of the overlay the size of an A-2 card. I then cut the same book feature with the holes cut out. I did end up trimming that layer down a bit. The sparkle paper is from my scraps bag. The frame die cut was papertrey ink #1 with stamp papertrey ink fillable frames.

scrapbook page

This is one of the scrapbook pages I worked on tonight with my group. I used elegant edges to cut the floral DCWV paper then used the same frame edging on blackout to create the picture, text and journal frames (Journalling not yet added). The flower was cut on the mother's day bouquet seasonal cart and the green flourish from accent essentials. All the edges were inked. This is from a day trip I took with old high school friends I reconnected with recently on FB.

quick Imagine card

I just want to say yet again that I love the colors in the All Wrapped Up cart... Not so thrilled with the images but I bought it for the vibrant colors. I sized this at 4" so it would fit into an A2 envelope.

It is time for me to catch up on scrapbook pages.. I did a two page layout 2 Thursdays ago that I never posted. I will get to it. HAHAHA it was pictures of the gifts my kids gave me for Valentines day. When I got up on Valentines morning my gifts were on the kitchen counter where I eat breakfast and my camera was next to it with a note to take pictures to scrapbook. How could I not scrapbook them after that. Tonight I pulled paper and designed on the gypsy the first two pages for a my trip to Peddlers Village with friends I reconnected with from high school on Facebook. Hope to work on them on Thursday night. I have a problem. I can never eliminate pictures from an event. I see all these beautiful layouts on blogs but I just can't manage to do that kind of thing and get all my pictures in. My scrapbooks are about the pictures not the accessories.

Thank you card

I used Elegant Edges and the Mother's Day Bouquet Cartridges.

Thank you card

I used Elegant Edges and Papertrey Ink Fillable frames additions 1.

Another mother's day card

I used Elegant Edges and Walk In My Garden. Cuttlebug folders used were forest branches and swiss dots. I don't think you can really see it in the photo but I sprayed the flower with opal glimmer mist to give it a little sparkle before I assembled it.

Elegant Edges

In addition to the All Wrapped Up cart I got Elegant Edges. I have to say I am in LOVE! If you are a card maker this is a must have! Now that the party is OVER and the house is put back together I am playing with my new carts. I colored these birthday cakes last week. In the one picture I used the cuts from Elegant Edges and filled the images with pattern and solid color from the All Wrapped Up Cart. In the other one I just cut on colored paper.

new carts

Okay I was not going to buy the All Wrapped Up Imagine cart because I was not thrilled with the images but then I caved because it has such vibrant colors. One of my complaints about the Imagine carts so far is that all the colors seem muted or vintage. Well this one is amazing. It arrived when I was in get the house ready for my moms 90th birthday party Friday but I had to stop, cut and print something so I made this.
