retiree centerpiece

All I can say is wow to my friend Linda that did such and amazing job of arranging all the paper flower centerpieces for our secretaries dinner. She arranged 13 total with this one being larger than the rest with lots more detail for the retiree. I have to say that I really don't care to cut flowers for a while on my cricut. The mother's Day Bouquet cart was worth every penny in creating these arrangements along with my Big Bite..

note cards gift.

The stamp is from my friend Karen's spring stash she let me borrow. The papers are papertrey ink and the scalloped circle die from spellbinders.

Welcome Spring Card

I got this Digi Stamp from free digi downloads blog. I colored with my copics and used mostly scraps from my scrap bag for the layers.

Another monogram card

I managed to cut more layers than I needed for my mothers open house invitations so rather than waste them I cut a few more and made 8 monogram cards for a friends birthday coming up in April. People seem to really like getting card sets as gifts. I used spellbinders lacey circle and I cut the N from the Lifes A Beach Cartridge since these colors remind me of the beach. The circle was cut from the every faithful Plantin Schoolbook.

invitation

I will be having an open house for my mothers 90th birthday at the end of April. This is the invitation.. I was hoping to finish them all tonight but I am done in. I have to pop dot 10 more tomorrow then they will be done. I made 22 of them. I told family that I wasn't mailing invitations to them.. hehehe. I need to get on the spring cleaning soon to get the house ready.

Not finished yet

I think I am done cutting flowers.. My friend Linda is assembling all the arrangements. I'm just good at fluffing the flowers out.. LOL not arranging. I do need to cut more of the green swirls to add more greens to these and I want to cut some caterpillers and things to add to them. Linda still has like 6 or 7 more to arrange so I still have lots of flowers to fluff.

Sorry

Still not picture... I hope to take one of a completed centerpiece on thursday night. I made another 33 flowers last night.. More to go.. sigh... Then I need to make the extras for the retiree's centerpiece.. The happy retirement phrase and little extras like some bees or something on the flowers. If I get desperate or I can't cut it small enough on the cricut I will get some stickers bees or butterflies. There is a light at the end of the tunnel because I need to start making my moms 90th b-day cards.

heavy sigh

I do not need any cricut carts right now... I don't!!!! Walking through Michaels I see Mini Monsters on clearance.. I know all the prices are going to go up on ebay because provo craft has raised prices to retailers.. So I bought it.. I have loved it since it came out.. I can make a rockin bulletin board with this cart next Halloween! I took today off from making flowers. I spent the day with my nook. I have to say that the flower making has stolen my mojo temporarily but I am giving myself 1 week to buckle down and make 60 more flowers.. ( we decided we needed more than we thought )

Then I need to make invitations for my moms 90th birthday open house.

Fun Day

I spent the entire day with high school friends I reconnected with on facebook. Three of us drove from here to meet another friend from PA. We spent the whole day in Peddlers Village in PA wandering the little shops and having lunch together.. So fun to reconnect through technology with old friends. I can't believe I had never been there. All of the other girls had! It is only an hour and 30 minute drive! Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful spring day with clear skies and sunshine after all the rain we have had. Took lots of pictures to scrapbook :)

Super quick cards

Okay these cards are super quick.. On the sympathy card I was experimenting with
fillable frames additions 1 from papertrey ink and the matching cutting die...
The watering can card was me continuing to experiment with my copics.

I just needed a night off from cutting flower.. hehehe..

On a sad note I do have a hernia. I do not know how long I am going to be able to hold off the surgery. I don't even meet with the surgeon until the 21st of March..

Off to get my ashes.. Hummm I figured out what I needed to give up to make me a better person.. My secret though.

Oh my....

Right about now I am wondering what I was thinking that I would cut and make all the table arrangements for this retirement dinner.. As of this afternoon I have over 75 flowers cut and assembled. Each flower has 6 layers to it.. I have not started the leaves and greens yet. I am thinking we need to assemble one arrangement for me to get the proper measurements for the greens.. Gee that means I need to find the right containers since I took back my original purchase since it didn't match the flowers..

Wish me luck tomorrow. Called out sick. I am getting a CT scan of my upper abdomen. They think I have a hernia at one of my incision sites from my hysterectomy and bladder lift last spring.. Ughh I hope I can gag down the barium..

I really DO NOT want to miss school again this spring. I have had such a good year with my kiddies. Hoping that what ever it is can wait until summer. I may have to give up my trainer and weights at the gym if in fact it is a hernia.

3 super simple cards

Yeah my desk is clear.. I took these stamped images that have been copic colored and sitting around for weeks and made them up into cards.. ( I made up several of each of these images) Super simple layout made special because they all have action wobbles on them..:) The image was cut with a nestabilities lacey circle. I cut the solid back round using plantin schoolbook circles. The ribbon and paper are mostly papertrey ink. ( The small green and red polka dot was not, from my stash) Papertrey ink base and ribbon colors were scarlet jewel and pure poppy. I am at the point that I only use papertrey ink for a card base unless I need something bigger like when doing a shutter cards because you need a 12" sheet of paper. I love, love their paper and ribbon because it matches perfectly.. I learned the hard way that all that pretty ribbon on clearance is useless if it doesn't match the colored paper you have at home. I am not one to stockpile 50 roles of ribbon waiting for it to match something.

clearing my space

I hate half finished projects.. I have a bunch of these Christmas images that I stamped and colored playing with my copics right after the holidays.. This weekend I want to get them all put on cards and filed in my Christmas card box.. ( I try to make my cards all year long so by Christmas I have a handmade card for everyone I send to) The paper and ribbon are all Paperteryink. I used my new i rock to adhere the gems.

Thursday night I cut flower pieces for probably 3 1/2 hours. My friend Linda was the flower assembler.. I think we got between 60 and 70 flowers completed for the table arrangements.. Most of those flowers were all pattern. I am going to concentrate now on solid colors for mixing in. Everything is staying in the pink and red family. I took back the pots I bought. Did NOT go with the flower colors. I am going to go with baskets. I am going to take back the taffy sticks. We are going to go with wooden sticks instead. I have lots of leaves to cut.. Good thing I still have 3 weeks to get it all done. We figure we need at least 100 flowers to make all the arrangements.

When is life not busy, busy??

Sorry no posts this week. Monday night I was cutting all the pieces for my March bulletin board. I used the Old West rope font for the letters cut in white and it looks like cloud letters :) Tuesday I took the night off and last night my daughter arrived home early for spring break to get her car evaluated for repair from her accident on Saturday night. Fingers crossed it is fixed soon and all goes well. She has 6 more weeks of classes after next week to graduate with her BSN. I have not seen her since Christmas so I am so happy she is home for a few..

Tonight is scrap night at church. Leaving in a few minutes. I am determined to try and finish up the lion share of these centerpiece flowers.. fingers crossed.
