xmas card

Please remember that this idea was not original. Just gave it my own twist with the cricut base brown tree and glimmer misting the papers. I looked for the card of the booth I got this idea from at ckc to give credit but I can't find it. It took a lot of branches that you had to individually glue down.

xmas tree but no picture... yet

Okay at ckc yesterday I bought this small branch punch that you could use to build an xmas tree. Well, I took that idea and cut the base on the cricut in brown. Then the two colors of green paper I used to punch the branches I glimmer misted in spanish moss and meadow green. For the red accents I used red shimmer paper but I sprayed it with marshmallow glimmer mist and pearl glimmer mist. I put a dot of stickles on the accents. Soo I want to take a picture tomorrow in natural light.. Okay my Son came in and is using like for different glimmer mists to create a topper for the tree. Can you tell I bought 10 bottles of glimmer mist yesterday? I only had two before I bought online . Ut oh.. now he is adding the shimmer gelly roll pen to it!!

Cleaning

I am forcing myself to clean the house before I can play with my new craft items... ☹

CKC

Going to CKC in Valley Forge tomorrow. I hope to find some fun goodies.

don't like this one!

I don't like this card but I put up...the good, the bad and the ugly. I figure you can be inspired by the ones you like and avoid my mistakes in the disasters. LOL

paper order is in!

Yeah I got my paper and stamp order from papertrey ink. The papers, ribbon and stamp were from my order today. The flower was some cut-outs I got in my goodie bag from creations with christina from her give-away. I sprayed them with marshmallow glimmer mist before I hot glued them together.

Another shutter card

I finished up the other shutter card this afternoon. I just searched cupcake on the gypsy and I liked this one so I used it. I think the flower shapes were from stretch you imagination and the happy birthday was from create-a-critter. The paper was all from DCWV summer dream stacks.I used the making memories scalloped border punch and punched both sides for the strips.

busy weekend

I have a half finished card on my desk since yesterday morning. I guess it will get finished tomorrow. Graduation party yesterday in the almost 100 degree temps here in south Jersey, today church and then play tickets. I always love seeing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. Can't tell you how many times I have seen that and every production does something a little different. Tonight is the one TV show I am currently watching (Design Star on HGTV). I would normally rather craft or read than watch TV. I set up the cuts to finish the card after church but I had to leave for the play and didn't get to cut.

Papertrey Ink

I just made a big paper order from papertrey ink from the money I got for my birthday today. I can't wait for it to arrive. I purchased some of the perfect match paper I use for my card base and for the first time splurged and got some of the ribbons to perfectly match the paper. Yeah!

Yeah!!!

I won a cricut expression for my school!!! Way cool!

Creative Escape Entry

The cricut circle is having a contest to win a trip to Creative Escape in August. You had to use only Bazzill and cricut products. The submissions I have seen are amazing. I wasn't sure if you could use products that weren't bazzill so my card is simple and just uses a variety of textured papers by bazzill. (They don't photograph well) Also since the cards go to the leukemia society I used the symbol for it as my center piece and welded in a face from a paper doll using the gypsy into a raindrop on stripped paper to symbolize the leukemia symbol. (Kind of like the pink ribbon for breast cancer) The inside of the card has a textured dotted paper as well for the wording.

shutter card

I am feeling a little bored with A-2 size cards right now so I went hunting for a new ideas and came across the shutter card. This is my first attempt. I used the DCWV Summer Dream stack paper, create-a-critter happy birthday, some old stickers from my stash and an oval cutter. Even my daughter liked this one.

Momo's challenge

I used the new French Manor Cartridge for Momo's girly challenge.

bird-day card

A bird-day card from create-a-critter. Believe it or not I used my asian embossing folder on the yellow layer of the bird.

Momo's challenge

This for Momo's "girly affair" challenge. I had a hard time not getting me in the mirror when taking the picture. LOL!

This is me!!!!!

tree card

When I was trying to make a card for my daughters boyfriend the other night and she said everything was either too kiddie or girly she said use a tree. I didn't one for her boyfriend but I tried one today. I think it is kind a boring but I did use DCWV shimmer stack blue which adds a little something that the photo doesn't really capture. I really need to take card pictures with something other than my iphone. The tree was cut from the pagoda cart.

card for mom

Mom just called. Needs a quick B-day card. Well, this is not fancy but its quick. Sorry the picture is off center. The frame is raised with pop-strips I found. Not as high as pop-dots.

Just Because Cards

Okay I have to admit that I bought a few carts when I was on a spending spree during my rehab after surgery in the spring and have not used them yet. I had gone back to work and the end of school was hectic and yes I am making excuses. Since it is summer I am breaking in all carts before I am allowed to by another thing!

Think Pink

When I read momo's blog today it reminded me that I also want to send a card to Monique but it had slipped my mind. Here it is.

Aunts card

My aunt will be celebrating her 92nd birthday this week. Here is her card. I used sweet treats cart, papertrey card base and DCWV Sweet glitter matstack for the cupcake patterned paper. All the colors were chosen to coordinate with the patterned paper.

Another B-day card

You would think that with 4 brothers I would be better at guy cards than I am... This card is made totally with scrap pieces except the Papertrey brown base. I used the Everyday Paper Doll for the baseball stuff. One of my brothers B-day is Tuesday and he loves baseball.

Saturday

Well, I gave my best effort to organizing the multipurpose room today. You can sit on the love seat in here now. I boxed books for a book exchange and it freed up room to place more scrap stuff on the shelves. I then worked on typing some of the narrative of my New Orleans pictures. I took so many pictures over the 10 days I am scraping the Intro pages to each day and then just using pages that hold 12 4 X 6 pictures to slide in. I may have gone over board with printing over 400 pictures but I want to preserve the memory. I probably will never get back to New Orleans. After that I worked on this card for my daughters boyfriend. OMG Everything I held up was no, no, no... She finally agreed I could do a dog card because he just got a puppy. It is a black lab but when the light hits it you see a tint of brown. His eyes are so black that you can't see them thus the cut outs that you can hardly see in the picture.

cleaning

I am trying to clean/reorganize the craft/computer/sewing/school work room. Therein lies the problem. I want the room to function in too many capacities and I have a hard time throwing things out. Early childhood teachers are born hoarders.

cricut circle

Well, I wasted my whole morning sitting by the computer to try and win the school I teach at a gently used cricut expression... My fingers are crossed. Oh I did work on my gypsy while waiting designing a card for a circle contest. I need to go purchase some supplies before I cut it though.

Final Memorial Day layout

Final Memorial Day layout of 2010. I continued to use the Independence Day cart and a red, white and blue theme.

Thank Ewe

I made four of these cards today since yesterday I realized that my thank you card supply was down to one. The format for each was the same but the colors varied slightly. I used My Pink Stamper Stamps, Create a critter cart, Papertrey ink card base and scraps.

cricut circle

I almost forgot to post that I got the best present ever when I got home. My cricut circle box had arrived. I view as divine intervention. Here I was taking all those pictures of the French Quarter in NOLA and I get the cart French Manor. Now I have to tell you that I stared trying to catch up on my blogs and I find it disheartening that people are using the circle membership to get exclusive carts to turn around and sell for a big mark up on ebay.... I find this offensive. Just so you know.

Yeah

Yeah I am back to scrappin. I will take pix's of the two page layout I did tonight tomorrow.. I am feeling great to be out of the hum drums of the end of school after my 10 visit to NOLA. Now I have to get back on the exercise wagon and work off all that yummy food.

Home Sweet Home

It feels so good to be home after being in New Orleans for 10 days. I took over 400 pictures.. I have my work cut out for me.
